Talent from across the country that came to compete out made this event top tier, and the amount of college coaches scouting kids and our PH staff evaluating kids is second to none. Shooting the rock has become a pivotal aspect of the game, here are some of the guys I saw who were hitting shots throughout the weekend.
David Cundiff, 6’1 PG, Team GRIII 224 Elite: One of the best scoring guards I saw all weekend. His shot selection, smoothness, and consistency made him one of the best shot makers as well. Got into the mid range game quite a bit and rose over contests to drill shots, got out in transition off the dribble for pull up daggers, and understands movement without the ball to find openings to rise up. Cundiff’s shooting and scoring ability quite literally took over games throughout the weekend.
David Cobin David Cobin 5'10" | PG De Soto | 2024 State #285 Nation KS , 6’ PG, Team KC Spurs 2024 (Pictured): One of our top ranked 2024’s in Kansas went to battle with Cundiff and the two put on a shooting display. Cobin developing a lethal 3 point shot just makes him that much better as he possesses all of the other big time point guard qualities. Cobin hit a couple of huge momentum building and sustaining threes in the second half as well as a nice mid range jumper from the free throw line area.
Trey Oakley, 6’1 G, SSA Elite 2025 White (C/O 2026): Had himself a weekend shooting the ball which ended with a 6 for 8 shooting barrage in a win to close out the weekend. Oakley busted multiple zones they saw this weekend and was really good in the catch and shoot game. Oakley has the motor, IQ, and athleticism to become a big time player and showing off the shooting ability this weekend will notch some more eyes heading his way.
Elem Shelby, 6’3 G, Brycen Warren United 2025: A smooth operator from the guard spot, Shelby was lethal from the perimeter all weekend. Has tremendous length for the class of 2025, and used it to hit shots over late contests. Shelby was automatic from the corners and if defenders got out of position he almost always made teams pay.
Adam Frederick, 6’5 W, Florida Suns 2023: A player that could not be helped off of especially from the corners. Was a knockdown player who showed he fits in perfectly with an athletic roster that can create scramble situations off the bounce or in the post. He made teams pay for losing him on the perimeter and hit kick out threes and shots on the move throughout the weekend. Has good size too for the position.
Levi Birkholz, 6’3 G, Wisconsin Crusaders 2023: The explosive guard has all of the tools. His ability to knock down shots to pull defenses out really allows his blow by ability to shine and gets him to make plays at the rim. Birkholz is great shooting the ball at both the intermediate game and from the 3 and can utilize the hop gather or one-two into shots as well as play as a catch and shoot guy or create shots off the bounce.
