Today’s Preview Feature will be on some of the guards from teams representing Kansas who will be up there in the class of 2025
KC Spurs Black 2025
Monta Stacker, 6’1 G, Blue Valley North HS, 2025: Can really use his athleticism to play a high level of defense, ability to rebound, and play with a head of steam attacking this rim. Stacker plays with great energy and enthusiasm for the game. He is a tough finisher, good screener, and has a ton of upside.
Malik Lewis, 6’1 G, Blue Springs, 2025: An electric guard who comes from a great program and is a really fun guard with great burst, downhill playing ability, and can control games with his abilities. Lewis has nice length form the guard spot and that paired with his growing skill set makes him a must watch guard to check out this weekend.
SSA Elite Black 2025
Sage Fejfar, 6’2 G, Burlington, 2025: Really tough combo guard with a good handle to play some point, use ball screens, and be a playmaker from the one spot, while having a smooth stroke from 3, ability to move without the ball as a cutter, and is a space creator to play off the ball. Get’s after it on the defensive end of the floor as well, is not afraid to mix it up and rebound, and gets deflections.
Jamon Wilson, 5’10 PG, Highland Park, 2025: A gritty, fast, and hard nosed guard who is really solid at getting down hill. Wilson can get to the floater game and shoots that shot at a solid clip, is a really good passer off the dribble to find cutters and shooters, and puts defenders on their heels with his quickness. On defense he gets into guys, forces them to turn, and gets a ton of guys to pick up their dribbles.
SSA Elite White 2025
Will Otott, 6′ PG, Marysville, 2025: Otott played a pivotal role for this high school varsity squad right form the jump this year so has a ton of quality experience coming with him into the Live Period. Otott attacks closeouts well, has a solid intermediate game scoring the ball, can hit open shots, and he is a very good rebounder from the point guard spot. Very strong guard who makes it hard to get him sped up while on the dribble.
Breton Spikes, 5’11 Combo Guard, 2025: Spikes is a microwave scoring the ball and has a good frame to play both guard spots. Strong player who can get to his spots off the bounce and is a solid finisher and pull up jump shooter. Spikes has the ability to steadily influence games on both sides of the floor when locked in.
