The craziness is turned up another notch or two during live recruiting periods because there are even more teams competing, multiple locations to cover, and the presence of Division I college coaches just adds an extra dimension to the atmosphere.
As things wind down from our full day of action at The Stage, hosted by Prep Hoops at the Indianapolis Convention Center, it is time to highlight some Saturday standouts. These are 10 of the best players that I had the opportunity to see play today.
Stefan Cicic Stefan Cicic 7'0" | C Riverside Brookfield | 2024 State IL (Notre Dame College Prep 2025/Mac Irvin Fire 2025): A massive interior presence for his age, the 6’8″ Cicic still moves well and has good hands around the basket. He is an excellent rebounder on both ends of the floor and was dominant when I watched.
Juan Cranford Jr. (Wayne H.S. 2024/Midwest Basketball Club 2024 Gold): Crandford Jr. is a strong, 6’2″ guard that is really hard to handle off of the dribble. He is a good shooter, elevates well on his jump shot, and can finish through traffic around the basket. Had a great day on Saturday.
David Cundiff (Munster H.S. 2024/Team GRIII 2024 Elite): This 6’2″ came up clutch down the stretch to bring Team GRIII 2024 Elite eventually hitting the game-winner as time expired to secure the victory. Cundiff finished with a team-leading 18 points.
Cooper Farrall Cooper Farrall 6'5" | SF Culver Academy | 2023 State IN (Culver Academy 2023/Team GRIII 2023 Elite): Farrall poured in 23 points as Team GRIII 2023 Elite cruised to an easy win on Saturday afternoon. The 6’5″ athletic, physical wing has had a great start to the live recruiting period with several college coaches taking notice.
Kenoly Jones (Livonia Stevenson H.S. 2022/Supreme Elite 2023): This unsigned senior poured in 31 points Saturday evening as Supreme Elite finished the day 2-0. Jones scored 25 points yesterday as well in a victory. Definitely one of the top available scorers at The Stage this weekend.
Luke Kinkade Luke Kinkade 6'3" | PG Neuqua Valley | 2024 State IL (Neuqua Valley H.S. 2024/Basketball Paradise 2024): A super skilled left-handed guard, Kinkade scored the ball at a high level in a close loss to Team GRIII 2024 Elite. He can shoot the ball well from beyond the arc, create his own jumper off of the dribble, and get all the way to the basket.
A.J. Lux (Crown Point H.S. 2023/Team GRIII 2023 Elite): He will be written about a lot this weekend, but that is because he is one of the better prospects at The Stage. Lux continued his hot shooting weekend with another 20 point performance in a win for GRIII Elite on Saturday.
Deandre Minor (Northside H.S. 2023/Tennessee Edge 2023): A 6’4″ athletic forward out of Tennessee, Minor was excellent on Saturday morning. He scored it in transition, finished putbacks around the basket, and showed off his driving ability. Love his versatility.
Jackson Price Jackson Price 6'2" | SG Mishawaka Marian | 2023 State IN (Mishawaka Marian H.S. 2023/5Star 2023): The sharp shooter started the day off at 8:00 a.m. by making 3’s and didn’t look back all day long. The 6’2″ guard finished 18 points in the first game, a 30-point win, and then followed it up with a 24 point performance later in the day.
Devon Woods Devon Woods 5'10" | PG Pike | 2023 State IN (Pike H.S. 2023/EG10 2023): Woods is a dynamic playmaker with the ball in his hands and was excellent in both games on Saturday for EG10. The 5’10″ point guard is really fun to watch and one of the better passers in the class in terms of Indiana prospects.
