Alonzo Rodgers-Colorado Premier
Alonzo Rodgers was a true bright spot for his Premier team for the day. He scored from all 3 levels with ease, while still being able to keep his head up and hit open teammates for good shots. Throughout the day he guarded the opposing team’s best player using his speed and athleticism to limit their opportunities offensively.
Jax Duren Jax Duren 5'10" | PG Thunder Ridge | 2024 CO – CP Magic
Jax Duren Jax Duren 5'10" | PG Thunder Ridge | 2024 CO was one of the best pure shooters I seen the gym Saturday. He knocked down countless shots with little to no space. What separates Jax from other shots is his ability to hunt for open space on the offensive end of the floor. This allows him time to set before the defense even realizes he’s open and provides gravity. He’s as knockdown as they come.
Mitchell Oliver- Colorado Kraken
Mitchell Oliver couldn’t miss on Day 1 of #PHSpringkickoff including an 18pt first half against Rocky Mountain Fever. The shifty guard hit 5 3’s and took plenty of ankles. Mitchell is usually the smallest player on the court, but you’d never be able to tell by the way he dominates the game. He competed on day 1 and made it difficult for teams to slow him down.
Brayden Halvey-PSB
Brayden Halvey is one the younger ones that was playing up this weekend but he is fitting in just fine. Even with their first game not being close, Brayden still made plays on the ball defensively and stayed active in the passing lanes. Offensively he showed opposing teams what “hand down, man down” really meant. Brayden has a quick release that gives him the ability to pull up at anytime and that was on display.
Marius Johnson- Colorado Kraken
Marius Johnson is as smooth of a player as they come. He is patient and makes all the right reads on both sides of the ball. During Day 1 he was his best when he played off-ball, giving him the advantage offensively to attack from the wing. What flies under the radar with Marius is have quick his hands are in the passing lanes. He easily had the most steals on the day just by being active on defense.
Ehud Testfaye- Hardwood Elite
Ehud Testfaye in my opinion will be a household name soon. He’s a big guard that can score in bunches as well as get other players involved offensively. During Day 1, Ehud had his full offensive package on display, knocking down jumpers and using his body to get into the paint for easy layups. To many people, Ehud plays older than what he really is as his game shows maturity but that comes from him having a higher IQ than other players his age. I am excited to see his development.
