Spring is here and that can only mean one thing. It’s Circuit Season! The Prephoops Circuit is upon us. I will be covering and providing exposure for the Hustle Region Circuit. The Hustle Region Circuit consists of AAU Programs from California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Utah, Montana, Idaho, Colorado, and New Mexico. The circuit features 10 stops including the Hustle Region Final in Irvine July 15th – 17th. Throughout the season we will be breaking down our Pillar Programs. In this article, we take a look at Chosen Few

Returners:

[player_tooltip player_id="986969" first="Jordon" last="Cosby"] 5’10 PG Spring Valley 2024 (#20PHN 2024) - Cosby is one of the top snipers in the state. The Marksmen has a quick trigger and is deadly from behind the three-point line. He is the type of player that can get hot in an instant and stack threes, changing the scoreboard quickly. His outside shooting will be key for the squad this year.

[player_tooltip player_id="986968" first="Jamison" last="McCall"] 5’9 CG Spring Valley 2024 (#15PHN 2024) - McCall is a combo that likes to shoot the ball. He and Cosby form one of my all X-factor backcourts as they both have the ability to change the game with their microwave-like scoring ability. Looking to see how much McCall has improved his handle and overall ball skills this summer.

[player_tooltip player_id="985628" first="Giali" last="Chapman"] 6’2 CG Mojave 2023 (#21PHN 2023) - Chapman is coming off a season that saw him win a state title. If he continues playing the way he did toward the end of the season for Mojave, then he may be in store for a huge summer. His slashing and finishing, along with the ability to play both on and off the ball for the club should prove vital.

[player_tooltip player_id="1137209" first="Desean" last="Moreno"] 6’4 SF Spring Valley 2022 (#30PHN 2022) - Moreno is fresh off an impressive showing at the Las Vegas Unsigned Senior Camp, where he took home MVP honors. He’ll get a chance to show off his R&J opportunities with the club. Moreno is a player that loves to get out in transition and finish above the rim.

Adonis Lafleur 6’2 SF Ceasar Chavez 2024 - Lafleur is returning from the East Coast to team up with his longtime AAU squad. One of the toughest players pound for pound, Lafleur is going to bring a ton of intangibles to the squad, along with some defense and transition scoring.

[player_tooltip player_id="1227293" first="Fernando" last="Talevera"] 6’5 C Shadow Ridge 2023 (#38PHN 2023) - Talavera is going to provide inside beef for the club. A good interior defender, he may have to defend players larger than himself, however, he has the frame to do so. He’ll also have to provide an inside scoring punch, as he’ll be the primary player to man the middle.

Newcomers:

[player_tooltip player_id="1283804" first="Jalen" last="Butler"] 6’1 PG Trinity 2025 (#28PHN 2025) - Butler is coming off a freshman season of adjustments, starting out at Trinity before ending up at Bonanza. He’ll play some point, but his strength is going to be his ability to play off the ball, and space the floor. Although one of the youngest players on the team, he got a lot of experience with the Bengals this season, and his shooting, will be a much-welcomed weapon for the squad.

[player_tooltip player_id="1148003" first="Devin" last="Marby"] 6’3 SG Shadow Ridge 2023 (#43PHN 2023) - Mabry is coming off a really good season where he led Shadow Ridge in scoring at over 14 per game. Although he can score the ball, the long-armed slashers defensive versatility will be one of the most vital keys for the squad. Mabry has the agility to defend 1 through 3 and the length to give undersized fours problems.

Sleeper:

[player_tooltip player_id="930659" first="Jake" last="Bevacqua"] 5’10 PG The Meadows School 2023 (#15PHN 2023) - There are assassins and then there’s Bevacuqa, who would just as soon throw a dagger in your heart as he would breathe. If the 2A State MVP is healthy, look for him to raise some eyebrows. He plays the game with a high IQ and a ton of confidence. Bevacqua has a tight handle, and is a lethal shooter, both in catch and shoot and off the bounce. His playmaking and big shot ability should catch the attention of someone this summer.

Top Prospect:

[player_tooltip player_id="986798" first="Alijah" last="Adem"] 6’1 PG Chosen Few 2023 (#7PHN 2023) - Adem is coming off a remarkable season leading the state in scoring and assist. A highly skilled player, Adem has the ability to make shots off the bounce and from range. He’s a rare player in that he’s a scorer who is more of a shooter. Adem excels at late-game situations and is one of the top tough shot makers in his class.
