Prephoops Live begins Friday, April 22nd, and runs through Sunday, April 24th. The event which takes place throughout the MOKAN (Missouri|Kansas) area, features nearly 300 plus teams from throughout the country. It also features several local players poised to make some recruiting noise. In this article, we take a look at some local standouts to watch in this event.

[player_tooltip player_id="986798" first="Alijah" last="Adem"] 6’1 PG Chosen Few 2024 (#7PHN 2024) (featured image) - Adem put on a show at the Stage in Indy, and now he looks to continue his strong Spring. His shooting and scoring were on display during his high school season, and he has added playmaking along to his skill set. His ability to create for teammates will be key as Chosen Few is going to face stiff competition in KC.

[player_tooltip player_id="1230778" first="Daniel" last="Jacobsen"] 6’11 C D1 New Mexico (#3PHNM 2024) - Scouts and coaches are going to love to get a look at the size and length of Jacobsen. He’s coming off a high school season where he averaged nearly 6 points and 6 rebounds per game. Those don’t sound like the most dominant numbers, but when you consider the fact that he saw limited minutes for a 24-win team, he’s a prospect to keep an eye on.

[player_tooltip player_id="1128606" first="Javier" last="Mendoza"] 6’2 CG D1 New Mexico (#17PHNM 2022) - Mendoza will be running with D1 as an unsigned senior. The guard is coming off a season helping Atrisco Heritage reach the playoffs. He’ll bring shooting to the squad as the floor spacing combo is good in catch-and-shoot action.

Prushant Choupra 6’6 D1 New Mexico 2023 - Not sure what position to list Choupra because I’ve never seen him play. So as you can imagine I’ll be excited for this weekend. The big man averaged nearly 12 ppg for a 12-win Menaul squad this season.

[player_tooltip player_id="1295240" first="Brandon" last="Kehres"] 6’6 PF Organ Mountain 2024 (#19PHNM 2023) - Kehres has used the PH platform to make quite a name for himself. He played well at the Expo last fall and carried that over into a high school season where he averaged almost 18ppg. Now the two-sport star comes to KC to focus on basketball, assuming that he does there should be quite a bit of scouts and coaches focused on the play of the skilled 4 man.

[player_tooltip player_id="930659" first="Jake" last="Bevacqua"] 5’10 PG Chosen Few 2023 (#15PHN 2023) - Bevacqua is coming off a season in which he led Meadows to the 2A crown. The PG will put his winning spirit and slick handle on display this weekend. Bevacqua is a gamer with sneaky quickness. His ability to turn the corner and make plays for himself and teammates will be fun to watch this weekend.

[player_tooltip player_id="985628" first="Giali" last="Chapman"] 6’2 CG Chosen Few 2023 (#21PHN 2023) - CF likes winners. In addition to state Champion Bevacqua, Chapman took home the 4A crown. The silky-smooth guard should be one of the better two-way players at the event. Chapman has the ability to defend both backcourts spots, and he can both initiate and have plays run for him on the offensive side.
