FRIDAY NIGHT FANTASTIC
Gavin Muirhead Gavin Muirhead 6'7" | PF O'gorman | 2023 State SD |6’7 PF| Pentagon Schooler 2023 Walker
Wow, he had a great debut on the Prep Hoops Circuit! Gavin is very long and he tries to dunk on anyone in his way. He had multiple alley-oop finishes. Muirhead whammed it with 1 and 2 hands on different occasions. The big man can also hit triples, he hit back-to-back treys in the first half. Gavin is a strong finisher that went through contact and scored an AND1. He is also an impressive rebounder, especially on the O-glass. Muirhead is an intriguing player with his length and athleticism. His stock has certainly risen.
Tate VanOtterloo Tate VanOtterloo 6'5" | SF Beresford | 2023 SD |6’4 G/F| Pentagon Schoolers 2023 Walker
He is a long, skilled, and athletic player. Tate is a matchup nightmare because he can play in and out. He showed great finishing with a slick inside-hand layup with the D on his back. He is a fluid & smooth 3-point shooter that cashed in multiple on Friday. Like many of his Schooler teammates, Vanotterloo grabbed multiple O-boards. Tate is not just a scorer, he makes the extra pass and creates for others. College coaches need to take a look at this player.
Collin Archer |6’4 SF| Minnesota Magic 2023 Maroon
He had a nice Friday night. Archer shot the ball well from the perimeter and he had a highly productive first half scoring the ball. Collin showed that he can score inside and out. I like that he does not force shots. Archer and his teammates play very unselfish basketball and they move the ball extremely well. Collin also stood out as a hard-working offensive rebounder.
Chet Kloss Chet Kloss 6'6" | PF Eastview | 2023 State MN |6’6 F| MN Chill Elite 2023
He was hot early in the game on Friday night and he helped Chill pick up a comfortable win. Shortly after tip-off, Chet hit back-to-back treys. I knew he was a tough kid and Kloss showed that off again on Friday against an athletic Florida team. He showed a soft shooting touch with a kiss off the glass. Kloss also was tough on the O-boards. He dropped dimes and moved the ball. It was a sweet game for Kloss. This kid is a DUDE.
Khalif Bettis Khalif Bettis 6'6" | SF Burnsville | 2023 State MN |6’5 F| MN Chill Elite 2023
He scored a cool 21 points in MN Chill’s big win on Friday night. Bettis scored from the block with a perfectly timed fall-away jumper. Khalif flashed and cut for buckets. He also showed a nice 15-foot and 3-point shot. He has a feathery-soft shooting release. Khalif is a nice athlete with a diverse skillset and he has a good feel for the game. Expect Bettis to keep shining at Prep Hoops LIVE!
Dallas Bear Dallas Bear 6'8" | SF Cedar Falls | 2023 State #276 Nation IA |6’8 F| Iowa Barnsstormers 2023 Gold
This kid has been hyped up this spring, Dallas lived up to it all of it and he excited my expectations. Bear makes the game look easy. He is long, crafty, and he has skills like a PG. Dallas is an ambidextrous finisher that will make you pay if you overplay him. His lefty floater is next-level and his turn-around baby hook was fantastic. Dallas is also a 3-point sniper. Bear also has keen anticipation on defense. Dallas picked off passes and blocked shots. He is also an accomplished rebounder. Bear truly does it all!
