Prep Hoops Live: Day 2 Standouts (17U)

<h5>The live period was buzzing with talent this past weekend on the Prep Hoops Circuit. Take a look at the 17U prospects that stood out at the Drive5 Sports Complex on Day 2 of Prep Hoops Live.</h5> <p>&nbsp;</p> <h5>[player_tooltip player_id="1428902" first="Arnas" last="Sakenis"] | 6’10 Power Forward/Center | Full Package Select (2022)</h5> <p>Sakenis was an intriguing name that led the way for Full Package Select as he utilized his size on the interior as a presence in the paint. He also showed off his length and mobility defensively as they held their opponent to just 40 points to close things out. He’s an unsigned senior with some upside to develop as a 4/5 option at the next level. </p> <h5>Dick Rutatika | 6’8 Forward | Full Package Select (2022)</h5> <p>Rutatika is another unsigned senior prospect with Full Package Select that can play either forward spot given his ability to knock down shots on the perimeter. He stays within the flow of the offense while playing as a pick-and-pop option at times as he did with Full Package Select in their victory. He’s another budding 2022 name with this group.</p> <h5>Kale Scott | 6’1 Point Guard | DC United 2023 US (2022)</h5> <p>Scott was quite the smooth operator in the DC United 2023 US backcourt as he ran the show in their final victory. He showed he can find his teammates in space while also getting downhill himself and getting to the free-throw line in the process. As he knocks down free throws with more consistency, look for his name to grow on the circuit. </p> <h5>Jeven Eddy | 6’6 Forward | DC United 2023 US (2022)</h5> <p>Eddy went off for 28 points in DC United 2023 US’ final victory at Prep Hoops Live over at Drive5 Sports Complex. He showed off his athleticism in a variety of ways while going off for 18 of his 28 points in the second half. He puts constant pressure on opponents with his ability to finish at the rim. He’s another unsigned senior prospect on the PH Circuit platform for colleges to get eyes on.</p> <h5>[player_tooltip player_id="1295654" first="Gio" last="Williams"] | 6’2 Point Guard | Full Package Select</h5> <p>Williams is a guard that continues to show his ability to knock down shots and find his teammates for buckets. He cruised in their final game (at least scoring the ball) with just nine points on three made 3-pointers but he also showed he could find the hot hand as Sakenis (12 pts) and Rutatika (9 pts) had solid production in their final victory as well. He’s a solid combo threat with a nice feel of when to push the pace and when to run some offense. </p> <h5>Jabryn Anderson | 6’4 Guard/Wing | SkyIce Elite 2023 (2022)</h5> <p>Anderson is another unsigned senior prospect whose athleticism was on full display for SkyIce Elite 2023 at Prep Hoops Live. He’s an athletic prospect that likes to get downhill and make plays at the rim, by the second half, he was shooting mostly free throws as he went 6-for-8 from the line to finish with 14 of his 29 points. He started their final game with 15 points in the first half. He’s quite the fast starter on the wing.</p> <h5>Drew Clarke | 5’11 Shooting Guard | M14 Hoops 2023-2 National</h5> <p>Clarke was one of the top sharpshooters in the division when it was all said and done with M14 Hoops 2023-2 National, despite the final result. He went off for 22 of their 40 points while knocking down six 3-pointers to pace their offensive attack on Day 2 of Prep Hoops Live. He’s a name opponents won’t want to lose track of on defense, especially on the perimeter.</p> <h5>Joey Pantazis | 6’3 Forward | Spartan Sports Basketball 2023 (2024)</h5> <p>Pantazis was quite the presence in the Spartan Sports Basketball rotation given his ability to play with a ton of energy on both ends of the floor. He showed he could knock down shots off the dribble, battle for boards in the paint and came up with some big free throws down the stretch in their first victory of the day as they went 1-1. As he finds his composure while playing up an age level, look for his name to grow out of Niles West High.</p> <h5>Nicholas Cunningham | 6’2 Guard | SkyIce Elite 2023</h5> <p>Cunningham was another name that stood out with SkyIce Elite 2023 at Prep Hoops Live. He finished with 22 points for them in their final victory at Drive5 Sports. He’s another guard prospect that put constant pressure on opponents with his ability to get to the paint and make things happen. As he shores things up at the free-throw line, look for his stock to grow out of Douglas Macarthur High. </p> <h5>[player_tooltip player_id="1300690" first="Ja’kenes" last="Heard"] | 6’5 Forward/Center | ENG United 2023</h5> <p>Heard was quite the rim-protector for ENG United 2023 as they closed things out with victory while going 1-1 on the day. He made a number of blocks and tough finishes around the rim while showing off his length and strong frame on both ends of the floor. He’s a budding prospect to watch out of Model High in the state of Georgia.</p> <h5>[player_tooltip player_id="1300689" first="Austin" last="Wilkerson"] | 6’2 Guard | ENG United 2023</h5> <p>Wilkerson was another impressive name to know alongside [player_tooltip player_id="1300690" first="Ja’kenes" last="Heard"] in ENG United 2023 rotation at Prep Hoops Live. He was an aggressive threat in the backcourt with his ability to shoot the ball on all three levels and get to the paint and make things happen. He’s at Unity Christian School in Georgia.</p>
