Omarri was an intriguing talent to watch during the #PHPassionRegionKickOff. He is not a very athletic big but is one of the most skilled bigs I saw throughout the weekend. He was a significant factor in the paint offensively, as he punished defenders with post moves that carved out space for easy finishes at the cup.
The big man that anchors the middle also showed a tremendous touch from behind the arc as he put on a 3-point show during one game.
Defensively he still has to continue working on his mobility. Still, as long as he can stay in the painted area, he is a rim protector and a space-eater, making it hard for the offense to flow with movement and making it hard for ball-handlers to find space to attack the rim. With his skill set as an offensive weapon and his ability to stretch the floor, a program looking for a post might be interested in taking a look at the Big O.

Team: Nassau Elite

Jack was not one of the most athletic guards at the kickoff, but his skills and IQ set him apart. He played within himself, which was why he was so productive in every game I watched. At any given moment, Jack was Nassau’s first or second option on the offensive end. He wasn’t a flashy scorer, but he was leading his team in the points column when you looked up.
He was extremely competitive, tough, and aggressive on both ends of the court.
The beauty about Jack, a sophomore that should draw interest, is that he was putting up hefty numbers in the 17U division. He played with a lot of confidence and could ultimately see interest coming his way from the next level.

Raje Benton (6’4/Combo Guard/2022)
Team: Supreme Team Basketball

Raje was one of the 2022 kids looking to get his name out there as he is looking to get to the next level. In his profile, Raje listed that he can play every position from the 1 to the 5. I will say that he is a very versatile athlete with tremendous athleticism. He was one of the few players whose energy and effort matched itself on both ends of the court. He often scored in transition because he simply got out and outran opponents. He scored off the offensive glass and easy put-backs.
He scored above the rim and off mid-range jumpers.
As you can see, he scored in a variety of ways. Defensively, I can say that he guarded the 1 thru the 5. Many would say he is a utility knife type player, meaning he is capable of doing so many things when out on the court. Could he get picked by a program looking to add versatility to their roster and a capable defensive stopper? The answer is yes. Really the program would be getting so much more in Raje besides the attributes mentioned.

Theodore Stephens (6’2/PG/2023)
Team: North Florida United

Theo is an intriguing player, as it is easy to not see just how impactful and valuable he is to his squad. There were games when he set the table, controlled the tempo of the game, and got everyone involved. It was those games that you would overlook him if you did not have the eyes to see within the game. Then there were games when he took the stage, and all eyes were on him.
During those games, he got to the rack off the bounce, thrived in transition, and got downhill with purpose.
It was during these games that I loved his efficiency and productivity. Theo’s game is solid in all areas as it is easy to say that the strength of his game is facilitating, then in the next breath, you can say it is easy to say that the strength of his game is scoring. When you look at the overall body of his work throughout the weekend, both statements would be true.

Axel Holmquist (6’7/PF;C/2023)
Team: North Florida United
Instagram: axel.holmquist
Twitter: N/A
Axel was one of the most complete players the entire weekend. Axel understood when and where his talent was needed and how to assert it in the game. His contributions include scoring, rebounding, handling the rock in transition, and defense. Offensively, he showed many tools and showed that he could score from many areas on the court. When he was on the low block with his back to the basket, on every post catch, he showed the ability to control the game for 2-3 seconds, survey the floor, then impact the action.
He has the ability to create his own shot while at the same time knocking down open shots in c&s opportunities.
He is limited athletically, but his understanding of the game and how to play made up for the areas where others were more athletic. Axel is a post player who brings a lot to the game and will be a steal for a program.
