I was stationed at Drive 5 so my coverage will be centered around those that played there during the #PrepHoopsLive that I was able to see. Let’s take a look at closeout Sunday around the Drive 5 arena.
Electric Point Guards
Anthony Galvin Anthony Galvin 6'0" | PG Cedar Falls | 2025 State IA , 5’11 PG, Iowa Barnstormers Gold 2025 (Pictured): The skill set with Galvin is elite. Is a tremendous finisher in and around the rim with an array of finishes with either hand. Has the up and under game, floater game, inside hand finishes, and two foot power finishes in his game. Is super quick with the ball and has great handles in the half court and full court. Really tough to guard with the ball, comes off firing on ball screens, gets to the pull up, and is also a gifted catch and shoot kid.
Michael Cooper, 6’1 PG, Team Teague 2025: Very long point guard with great ball skills both handling it and controlling it on finishes. Did a great job of pulling defenders out and then attacking them downhill to create for himself or his teammates. Cooper had some really good plays in the high ball screen game on Sunday, and along with fellow back court mate Mark Zachery, really controlled tempo and lived getting by defenders to be top tier playmakers.
Jayden Brown Jayden Brown 5'7" | PG Andover Central | 2025 State KS , 5’8 PG, I Am 3 2025: Really good shooter off the bounce with extended range. Has a quick trigger so can probe off ball screens quickly and get into his shot, or come off off ball screens ready to fire. In a close loss Sunday, really made plays down the stretch both as a scorer in the floater game but also made a couple of really nice passes to cutter for layups to keep his team in it and give them a chance late. Playing with great players this travel season and growing his game in a great Andover Central program will continue to do him wonders with his playmaking ability.
Kendal Cutler, 6’1 PG/CG, Grind Family Chicago 2025: A knock down shot maker with play making ability downhill. Showed off the game both Saturday and Sunday that he can be a true point or play off the ball and attack off the catch. Cutler can knock the 3 ball with confidence from a multitude of areas on the floor. He has a ton of game and plays with a big time motor in the back court.
Terrell King, 5’9 PG/G, I Am 3 2025: The motor is endless on the Hutch guard. King was all over the floor on Sunday and made a major impact on the energy levels, defensive intensity, and transition game for I Am 3. Brown handled a ton of PG duties but King is more than capable and took some minutes at the one and his play in that area was more than impactful. Drives really hard to the rim, gets to the foul line, and is extremely athletic for the 1 spot. King is one of those type of guards you want to make sure is on your side and not the opponents.
Tasean Williams, 5’9 PG, Team Dream 2024: All weekend but especially in two games Sunday, lived in the painted area off the dribble. Whether its in transition, iso situations, half court sets, or off ball screens, Williams understands change of pace and attacking angles to get guys off balance and create for himself or others once he collapses the defense. Williams both has a ton of game now and a ton of upside moving forward. His shiftiness on the bounce made him a tough out for every opponent on Sunday.
Jamon Wilson, 5’8 PG, SSA Elite 2025 Black: Was one of the better on ball defenders during the weekend, but on Sunday took the task of guarding some of the top guards in the 2025 group. Possess top tier speed on the defensive end and is electric in turning steals, deflections, or defensive rebounds into quick transition opportunities by kicking it ahead to teammates or uses his speed to get coast to coast as a one man fast break. Does a solid job of understanding game situations and when to push, settle things down, or to call sets. Wilson also continued to show he has one of the top floaters in 2025 group in KS.
