Ben Schingen — F — Playmakers Premier North 17U
I really like the versatility that Schingen possesses at the forward position. At 6-foot-5, he has good positional size and a strong build. He uses this size to rebound well and wall up on defense. On offense, he is a high-level prospect, too. He can step outside and hit threes or finish in the paint. In a Saturday morning contest, I really liked how Schingen played.
Carter Mavec Carter Mavec 6'1" | PG Rock Ridge | 2023 State MN — G — Playmakers Premier North 17U
Mavec was very impressive as a scorer on Saturday morning. I thought that he did a really nice job of penetrating the lane and either finishing the play himself or creating opportunities for teammates. If he decided to get a layup on his own, Mavec is very crafty and he does a good job of contorting his body while gliding through the air. Mavec is a deadly shooter, too. Opposing teams can’t afford to leave him open.
Carter Lulich — G — Playmakers Premier North 17U
Lulich came up huge in Playmakers Premier North’s victory on Saturday AM. Whenever his team needed a big play, it was often Lulich who they turned to. And it seemed that he was always able to come up clutch. He poured in 16 total points, including three made shots from deep. He also drilled three clutch free throws to seal the victory for his squad.
Jack Field — W — House Of Wellness All-Stars 17U
Field is a very skilled wing prospect who has a lot of different tools in his toolbox. In a close loss to Playmaker Premier North, Field was able to pour in 19 points, 14 of which came in the second half. In the second period, Field’s mid-range jumper was on-point. He did a really nice job of getting to his spots and converting. With a handful of small college coaches in attendance, Field was really impressive.
Jyceri Birmingham — PG — Wisconsin Crusaders 17U
Shots didn’t really fall for Birmingham last night, but I still thought that he played well. On Saturday morning, the point guard started to find his groove on the offensive end of the court. Right before the half expired, Birmingham drilled a corner three. The Wisconsin Crusaders prospect is a solid ball-handler who does a great job of competing hard on defense and getting teammates involved on offense.
Jaiye Famakinwa Jaiye Famakinwa 5'6" | PG Grafton Highschool | 2023 WI — PG — All Wisconsin AAU 17U
Most 5-foot-6 point guards aren’t going to be able to make a huge positive impact for their team simply because of their size. But what Famakinwa lacks in size, he makes up for with speed and competitive spirt. On Saturday morning, the point guard was giving it his all. I thought that he did a phenomenal job of using his quickness to stay in front of whoever he was guarding. He proved to be no slouch on offense, too. He did a good job of getting into the paint and finishing tough layups.
Keenan Klitzke — PF — Wisconsin Crusaders 17U
I thought that Klitzke did a really good job of using his size to dominate the paint. He has some really effective post moves and is a great rebounder on both sides. He is able to use his touch around the rim to get some difficult shots to roll in. Klitzke’s play was a big reason why the Crusaders were able to earn a victory. He led his team in scoring with 16 points.
