Jelani McGregor Jelani McGregor 6'3" | SF Phillips | 2023 State IL — PG — Illinois T-Wolves 17U
I really like McGregor as a scorer. On Friday night, he showed that he is capable of doing it all. He has a tight handle which he uses to make quick moves to the rim. At the rim, McGregor is a crafty finisher who is able to make shots at unique angles. He also displayed a pretty pull-up jumper. McGregor is a prospect who I look forward to watching the rest of this weekend. In a low-scoring game, McGregor was able to score 15 points.
Andrew Soenksen Andrew Soenksen 6'8" | PF Plainfield East | 2023 State IL — PF — Illinois T-Wolves 17U
Soenksen didn’t score a single point in Illinois T-Wolves’ Friday night victory over the Wisconsin Crusaders. Yet I am not sure that the T-Wolves come away victorious if it wasn’t for Soenksen’s play. The power forward was so good as a rim protector. When Soenksen was in the game, the Crusaders had a really tough time scoring in the paint. He blocked several shots. But even when he didn’t get a finger on the ball, he still influenced shots.
Marquise Walker — SG — Pride Roc 15U
Leading Pride Roc to a big win over Wisconsin Blizzard, Walker had a really great performance. He started off the game very well, as he was in attack mode from the tip. He converted on three layups in the opening minutes. It wasn’t just his scoring ability that earned Walker a spot on this list, though. On defense he competed and was able to tallied a couple of steals. I also thought that he did a really good job of fighting for rebounds.
Derrick Booker — SG — Pride Roc 15U
The Wisconsin Blizzard had a really tough time keeping Booker off of the free throw line on Friday night. The shooting guard had a monster first half. He scored nine points, going 6-7 from the free throw line. I thought that the SG did a really great job of selling fouls. He is a player to watch in the 2025 class.
Zachary Kelly — SG — Wisconsin Crusaders 17U
In two games on Friday night, Kelly did a lot of good work. I like how smooth he is as a slasher. He uses his quick first step to blow by defenders. Once his defender is left in the dust, he is crafty and is very good about finishing around contact at the cup. I thought that Kelly did a lot to raise his stock on Friday.
AJ Uttech — SG — Wisconsin Academy 2023
Uttech was hitting some really, really tough shots on Saturday night. Right before the first half expired, Uttech drilled a contested jumper that got him going. But that wasn’t it. He continued to make difficult shots for the reminder of the game. Uttech also has a strong build, which he uses to play physical basketball.
