Their high school careers may be over, but that doesn’t mean that Class of 2022 prospects have stopped working. There are still plenty of players out there looking for the right fit for the next level and are taking one last run in the spring to drum up some late interest. Down in Louisville for our Grit Region Kick-Off event there were several uncommitted seniors that took the floor and showed why college coaches still have options when looking for high school talent. Here are some of the Class of 2022 prospects that stood out at the Grit Region Kick-Off.

[player_tooltip player_id="870278" first="Colin" last="Comer"] (Greensburg H.S. 2022/D1 Indiana 2023): Comer is an athletic, bigger guard at 6’3" that can play above the rim at the end of his drives. A very good shooter both off the bounce and catch, the Greensburg scorer has the ability to make an instant impact at the college level wherever he ultimately ends up.

Landon Elmore (Central Hardin H.S. 2022/Kentucky Vision Elite 2023): Elmore is a long, athletic forward played well over the weekend at the Grit Region Kick-Off. At 6’7" he showed the ability to face up and score out to three-point range while also finishing inside through contact. Certainly an intriguing prospect for college programs to consider.

[player_tooltip player_id="1174129" first="Aaron" last="Humphrey"] (Tindley H.S. 2022/D1 Indiana 2023): Arguably the best available rebounder in Indiana’s Class of 2022, Humphrey can go get them outside of his area. He is a solidly built, strong 6’5"-6’6" forward that has great footwork while possessing the physicality to bang around inside. Scores it off of short straight line drives, quick dropsteps, and on putbacks. Will be a great small college pickup late in the recruiting cycle.

[player_tooltip player_id="1210383" first="Javon" last="Johnson"] (Proviso East H.S. 2022/Flee Club Hoops 2023): One of the better pure shooters at the event, Johnson played very well on Saturday when I had the chance to see him. Smooth ball handler that can create his own shot off of the bounce and elevates well on pull-up jump shots. 6’2"-6’3" guard that can play either spot in the backcourt. High-level student as well that would be a great addition for a college program.

[player_tooltip player_id="1063983" first="Sam" last="King"] (Columbus North H.S. 2022/D1 Indiana 2023): Now standing at a legitimate 6’7", King is a big body inside that brings a lot of little things to the table. He possesses good footwork, can defend multiple positions, and has a solid skill set offensively. For any small college program in need of a forward, King is one of the better ones still available in Indiana’s senior class.

[player_tooltip player_id="926900" first="Robby" last="Todd"] (Madison Central H.S. 2022/Griffin Elite 2023): Todd was maybe the most polished back to the basket scorer at the event from the action that I saw. At 6’7" with a physical, strong build he has the size to play on the block. He already possesses a good variety of moves and showed the ability to score with either hand. Definitely one to get on here in the spring.
