Mike Jones Mike Jones 6'7" | PF Chi-Prep | 2025 State #164 Nation IL (Team Rose 16U)
At 6’7” Jones controlled both ends of the court. On offense he showed his ability to make shots from different areas on the court. Mike made a couple face up plays that made you think he could become a wing at times. He has a smooth shot that didn’t touch the rim on his jumpers. On defense he controlled the glass seemingly getting his hands on anything that came off the rim. His best play of the day was a block off the backboard that he caught close to the square. I’m looking forward to watching him going forward in some higher profile matchups with some of the state’s top bigs.
James Prescott (Illinois Elite 17U)
The shifty guard had defenders on skates Friday evening. In a matchup with Full Package James kept guys pn their heels when the ball was in his hands. Attacking guys with hard crossovers and fancy footwork Prescott created a lot of space to get his shot off. Hitting 3 of 4 shots from deep he has led his team to a convincing win over a strong squad.
Colin Wainscott (Illinois Stars 17U)
Wainscott was terrific at wearing down God’s Gift defense by hitting 4 threes to put the game away. Colin was found several times by his teammates after beating the press. He made shots with guys running at him from all areas. Wainscott is a heady guard who doesn’t do much fancy with the ball in his hands but what he does do is hit shots at a high rate. He scored 22 in the win over Gods Gift.
Quentin Heady Quentin Heady 6'5" | SF Hillcrest | 2023 State IL (God’s Gift 17U)
Heady was matching shot for a lot early on in his game Friday night against Illinois Stars. Quentin seemed to always get the ball when his team needed a bucket. Heady was able to score from all three levels hitting a pair of three pointers, a 17 foot jumper, and the rest around the rim. He plays with a lot of aggression and energy and maybe too much because by the second half he ran out of gas and the Stars would open up the lead. Heady and Gods Gift just didn’t have the energy to fight back into the game.
