We’re wrapping up our look at all the unranked players who earned all-state honors from the past high school season. As is to be expected, there were more unranked 1A players to fly under the radar than at the higher ranks. But Prep Hoops never wants to overlook anyone. So here’s a quick shout out to some small-school ballers who deserve to be recognized for receiving all-state honors from KSHSAA and Sports in Kansas:

1A Div. I First Team Honorees:

Chance Hilger, 6-foot guard, 2022, Norwich – 1st team Sports in Kansas, 2nd team KSHSAA

Hilger was the leader of a really good Eagle team that had its heart broken in a 45-43 loss to Solomon in the first round of state. But that doesn’t detract from the fine senior season by the versatile guard. He averaged 17 points and 9.5 boards in leading Norwich to a 22-1 record going into the tournament.

Brent Penner, 6-foot-3 forward, 2022, South Gray –1st team Sports in Kansas, 3rd team KSHSAA

Penner has labored in the shadow of ultra-productive 2021 grad Aaron Skidmore and flashy 2022 guard [player_tooltip player_id="1195606" first="Brady" last="Deges"]. Add to that the lack of media and stats available from South Gray, and Penner has flown under the radar. But the senior averaged 17.7 points per game and had 31 more points in the three-game run at state.

1A Div. II First Team Honorees:

Keegan Dimler, 6-foot-2 forward, 2022, Hanover –1st team Sports in Kansas, 2nd team KSHSAA

Teammates Dimler and Philip Doebele have gone unranked because Hanover has been so balanced and deep. But there’s no question these guys are both ballers. Dimler is a long and productive forward who can handle the ball and has good vision to find teammates. He averaged 12.2 points and 4.3 assists as a senior. He blew up for 51 points in three games at the tournament.

Philip Doebele, 6-foot-4 forward, 2022, Hanover –1st team Sports in Kansas

Doebele is a powerful enforcer in the paint and is super efficient. He scores a lot on putbacks, as well as by overwhelming opponents close to the hoop. He averaged 8.7 boards and 2.8 blocks. No surprise that Doebele is a standout football player and thrower on the track team as well.

1A Div. I Second and Third Team Honorees:

Elijah Delp, 2022, St. John – 2nd Team Sports in Kansas, 3rd team KSHSAA

Camden Anderson, 2023, Troy – 2nd Team Sports in Kansas

Truman Bailey, 2022 Olpe – 2nd Team Sports in Kansas

Brock Keith, 2022, Meade – 2nd Team Sports in Kansas

Tyson Struber, 2022, Canton-Galva – 2nd Team Sports in Kansas

Kylan Cunningham, 2022, Lakeside-Downs – 2nd Team Sports in Kansas

Jonathan Hamel, 2024, Osborne – 3rd team KSHSAA

1A Div. II Second and Third Team Honorees:

Lincoln Shaffer, 2025, Tribune Greeley County – 2nd Team Sports in Kansas

[player_tooltip player_id="1350726" first="Titus" last="Sherer"], 2023, Tribune Greeley County – 2nd Team Sports in Kansas

Isaac Detweiler, 2023, Axtell – 2nd Team Sports in Kansas

Braden Colglazier, 2022, Pawnee Heights – 2nd Team Sports in Kansas

Braden Henry, 2022, Wetmore – 2nd Team Sports in Kansas

Eric Loya, 2022, Northern Valley – 2nd Team Sports in Kansas

Tyson Bleumer, 2022, Ingalls – 2nd Team Sports in Kansas

Teagan Thompson, 2023, Caldwell – 2nd Team KSHSAA

Josh Hildebrand, 2023, Stafford – 3rd Team KSHSAA
