While things have begun hot and heavy on the grassroots circuit, it is still important to put a bow on the season. Since working for Prep Hoops Louisiana, I have taken the time after the season concluded to name an all-North Louisiana team. With that said, here is my fifth installment of the postseason, all-North Louisiana team.

First Team

[player_tooltip player_id="981495" first="Jordan" last="Crawford"] (Simsboro | 16.0)

[player_tooltip player_id="1213567" first="Terrance" last="James"] (Gibsland-Coleman | 21.0)

[player_tooltip player_id="781848" first="Patrick" last="McCraney"] (Neville | 22.4)

[player_tooltip player_id="781849" first="Rayshun" last="McCullar"] (Huntington | 22.0)

[player_tooltip player_id="781860" first="Labree" last="Williams"] (Calvary | 24.0)

My first team selections probably had great individual seasons. In the midst of their individual production, they were key figures in the success of their respective teams. [player_tooltip player_id="981495" first="Jordan" last="Crawford"] was the primary ball handler and most versatile defender for the back-to-back champions in Class B (Simsboro) and he was also their most versatile defender. He scored 16 points per game while guarding five positions on some nights. [player_tooltip player_id="1213567" first="Terrance" last="James"] was the most electrifying transition player in north Louisiana. His 21 points per game were fueled by his transition scoring and his paint defense. Both helped Gibsland-Coleman raise the class C title at the end of the season. [player_tooltip player_id="781848" first="Patrick" last="McCraney"] began the regular season with a 30 piece against Woodlawn (S’port) and never looked back in another district MVP season. His 20-plus point average helped Neville reach the state quarterfinals in Class 4A.

[player_tooltip player_id="781849" first="Rayshun" last="McCullar"] had an MVP season as well in district 1-4A. His season, which garnered him a first team all-state selection, helped the Huntington Raiders return to Marsh Madness for the first time in over ten years. Rounding out my first team is [player_tooltip player_id="781860" first="Labree" last="Williams"]. The do-it-all forward from Calvary Baptist was in the best player in Class 1A and helped the Cavaliers to their third runner-up title finish in his career.

Second Team

[player_tooltip player_id="970111" first="Jamaria" last="Clark"] (Doyline | 31.0)

[player_tooltip player_id="932846" first="Joseph" last="Manning"] (Bossier | 17.7)

[player_tooltip player_id="932860" first="Nick" last="Maryland"] (Simsboro | 16.0)

[player_tooltip player_id="1273400" first="Braylan" last="McNeal"] (Ruston | 12.0)

[player_tooltip player_id="1130732" first="Omarion" last="Miller"] (North Caddo | 26.0)

[player_tooltip player_id="970111" first="Jamaria" last="Clark"] grew as a player this past season while averaging 31 points per game. He became a better facilitator and deference to teammates help the Panthers make the quarterfinal run they made. [player_tooltip player_id="932846" first="Joseph" last="Manning"] was arguably the best two-way player in the state and definitely in North Louisiana. His ability to take over games offensively and defensively was a key catalyst in the Bearkats Marsh Madness appearance. [player_tooltip player_id="932860" first="Nick" last="Maryland"] is one of the top wing defenders we have in Louisiana and was Class B title game MOP. He is a streaky shooter who is not afraid of the big games and big moments which he displayed time and time again this season. Ruston wing [player_tooltip player_id="1273400" first="Braylan" last="McNeal"] was a difference maker on offense and defense helping his team to a top 5 ranking this season in Class 5A. His 12 points per is only a small part of what he does for the Bearcats on a nightly basis. Rounding out the second team is one of the best receivers in the state who also happens to be pretty good on the hardwood. [player_tooltip player_id="1130732" first="Omarion" last="Miller"] and his 26 points a game helped the Titans win a district title and make a deep playoff run. Not too bad of a send off.

Third Team

[player_tooltip player_id="970126" first="Omarion" last="Layssard"] (Northwood-Lena | 21.9)

[player_tooltip player_id="1206919" first="Markell" last="McClain"] (Peabody | 15.0)

[player_tooltip player_id="970130" first="Courtney" last="McCarthy"] (Richwood | 31.0)

[player_tooltip player_id="1211165" first="Albert" last="Shell"] (Wossman | 15.4)

[player_tooltip player_id="1127252" first="Kyron" last="Reed"] (Captain Shreve | 12.5)

Leading off the third team is one of the most explosive players in Central Louisiana who is exceptional at converting and-1 situations. [player_tooltip player_id="970126" first="Omarion" last="Layssard"] and his near 22 points per game led Northwood-Lena within one game of back-to-back trips to Marsh Madness. [player_tooltip player_id="1206919" first="Markell" last="McClain"] became the Warhorses leader this season and did not disappoint leading the team with 15 points per game. He helped lead them to a quarterfinal birth in Class 4A. [player_tooltip player_id="970130" first="Courtney" last="McCarthy"] plays both ends of the floor well and that earned him a spot on the Class 3A all-state team. Even though the Rams lost to Bossier in the 2nd round, McCarthy was a key to earning them a first round home game. As far as two-way players go, [player_tooltip player_id="1211165" first="Albert" last="Shell"] is on a short list of good ones. His 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists were obvious reasons that helped Wossman play for a state championship in Class 3A. Rounding out the third team is a player who learned a new position on the fly while maintaining his shooting prowess from the perimeter. [player_tooltip player_id="1127252" first="Kyron" last="Reed"] led Captain Shreve to a 1-5A district championship and was named district MVP. He is a player who elevated his game and deserved recognition for his stellar play.

Honorable Mention

*Special recognition to Devin Myers #30 Honorable Mention

*Special recognition to Devin Myers #30 of Huntington High School. He would have definitely been a member of this squad if not for his untimely passing. He was a junior who was going to make a mark on the grassroots circuit and for the Raiders in 22-23.
