So today we will dig deeper into the Pennsylvania Class of 2024 rankings and review six players who used the 2021 “fall ball” events as well as the 2021-22 high school season to increase their recruiting stock significantly.
Below are six southeastern Pennsylvania 2024 stock risers you need to keep an eye on for the remainder of this high school post season and into the spring grassroots circuit.
227 to 25…Christian Bliss – 6’3” / George School / NY Rens / Combo Guard: The meteoric rise by Bliss in the latest rankings can be attributed to the fact that we finally got a long look at the former Archbishop Molloy (NYC) scoring point guard. In his first season playing high school basketball in Pennsylvania, Bliss (20 ppg.; 5.5 rpg.; 4.7 apg.) impressed with his high-level, entertaining style of play. His elusive dribbling skills enable him to navigate his way through traffic for a hoop or to drop a dime on a teammate. He also possesses enough physicality that he can play bully ball with most opposing guards. Bliss is a solid 3-point shooter as well. This season he lit up the scoreboard with games of 30, 29 and 26 (twice) points. At the other end, Bliss is a tenacious on-ball defender (2.5 spg.).
NR to 77…Trey O'Neil – 6’1” / Hill School / NJ Scholars Elite / Combo Guard: After transferring to Hill and reclassing into the 2024 graduate year, O’Neil turned in a tremendous season that landed him at No. 74 in our updated rankings. This winter his ability to knock down threes (34% on 3PA) provided a much-needed perimeter threat and floor spacing for Hill’s lineup. O’Neil (9.3 ppg.; 2.3 apg. & 2 rpg.) is quick and athletic, so he excels in transition. That quickness along with his superb handles allow O’Neil to run as a point guard if needed. From the point guard spot, he can blow past a defender to score in mid-range or at the rim, He can also facilitate for teammates off the dribble. O’Neil’s improved ability to direct the team in Hill’s half-court offense was a noticeable step forward in his game.
NR to 78… Myles Grey Myles Grey 5'10" | CG Reading | 2024 PA – 5’10” / Reading / Reading KTB / Combo Guard: Coming into this season Grey had the reputation as a high basketball IQ lead guard who prioritized distributing to his all-state level teammates. Well, during the 2021-22 regular season Grey proved he can get buckets too, especially via the three ball. In mid-January he scored 30 points on 10 made threes vs Twin Valley. Grey also had a lights out shooting night where he made 7 threes on his way to 24 points (Grabbed 7 rebounds too.). For the season Grey averaged 10.6 pg. and drained a team high 53 triples. The high percentage 3-point shooting Grey added to his game made him a more well-rounded prospect and thus he moved up in our Class of 2024 rankings.
NR to 84…Tristen Guillouette – 6’9′ / St. Joe’s Prep / NJ Scholars Elite / Power Forward: Guillouette’s jump from Trenton Catholic Academy (NJ) to SJP instantly made him one of the most polished big men in Pennsylvania’s Class of 2024. This season Guillouette provided further evidence of his tremendous skill set by averaging 11.7 points and 8.8 rebounds per game while shooting 46% from the field. The positioning skills and footwork Guillouette owns are extremely advanced for his age. Once he catches the ball on the interior, Guillouette can power his way through contact for a bucket or score over defenders with his soft touch. In mid-February he stuffed that stat sheet with 19 points, 11 rebounds and 7 blocks versus Father Judge. Obviously, he is a beast on the boards (Recorded a season high 17 rebounds vs. Neumann-Goretti.) and an intimidating rim protector (3.2 blocks per game). Guillouette holds an offer from Hofstra.

Burns

PA
– 5’11” / Springside CHA / NJ Scholars Elite / Combo Guard: The move from Martin Luther King HS in Philly’s Public League to SCHA made Burns a more well-rounded player while raising his exposure at the same time. Previously Burns was solely a mid-range scorer who relied on his dribble-drive (with either hand), stop on a dime, and then knock down a jumper move to get his points. However, this season at SCHA Burns proved that he has developed into a more complete player. Burns can now knock-down jumpers from behind the arc and is an underrated facilitator for teammates. This season he averaged 14 points as well as 4 dimes per game and registered a season high 21 points vs. Malvern Prep. Burns level of improvement was enough to earn him a 1st Team All-Inter-Ac League selection.
NR to 144…Larenzo Jerkins – 6’5” / Chester / SK Elite / Wing: Jerkins is a wiry athlete with a long wingspan who can finish on the fast break. However, he does the bulk of his scoring damage in the mid-range and on second chance opportunities. Jerkins does a tremendous job of finishing through contact. When a foul is called, Jerkins steps to the charity stripe and knocks down the freebies. Jerkins posted several double doubles during the regular season, but three performances really standout. First, he recorded 15 points and 11 rebounds in a loss to Reading, the defending 6A state champions. Then Jerkins posted 25-points and 13-rebounds in a victory over Penn Wood. He also rang up 14 points & 12 rebounds in another contest vs. Penn Wood. Obviously with his size, vertical and reach, Jerkins is an effective rebounder and shot blocker. A starter for Chester, Jerkins helped lead the Clippers to the District 1-6A title.
