3A games are going to be fun to follow this Thursday. Here are some of the top matchups and top players to watch from games in the far west:

TMP vs Scott Community:

Locking horns at Goodland will be top seeded TMP and fifth seed Scott Community, who advanced by beating Russell on Monday. TMP is led by 6-foot-7 junior [player_tooltip player_id="1212164" first="Dylan" last="Werth"], who came on strong at playoff time last year. He has been solid as a junior with 15.1 points and 8.1 boards per game. Werth will be challenged by 6-foot-6 sophomore [player_tooltip player_id="1378441" first="Gus" last="Hawkins"], who made the jump from an impressive freshman season with 13.7 points and 6.8 rebounds this year.

Norton vs Phillipsburg:

Another big man will take the stage at Goodland Thursday, Norton’s 6-foot-7 Nolan Juenemann. The center's production can be a little up and down, but look at the 30 he recently scored against Colby as an example of what he can do. Juenemann blocks shots, can pop out to hit mid-range jumpers, and he’s very powerful in the post. Phillipsburg is led by 6-foot guard [player_tooltip player_id="1372919" first="Joel" last="Ford"], a stat-sheet stuffing point guard who averages more than 4 rebounds and 4 assists to go with his 10 points a game.

Lakin vs Chaparral:

Lakin is back in the mix, despite graduating a lot of fine seniors a year ago. They are the top seed at Kingman. The Broncs boast one of the best backcourt tandems in the state. [player_tooltip player_id="1139927" first="Servando" last="Gonzalez"] is torching opponents for 25 points per game, while also dishing out 4.0 assists. [player_tooltip player_id="1139933" first="Allen" last="Martinez"] is tough as they come and contributes 19 points and 8.8 boards as a big 6-foot-2 guard.
