Our final group of Class AAAA Sophomores, the best sophomores in northern Minnesota. Know the names!

Elias Dee of Cambridge-Isanti (5’11 guard). Dee was mostly a junior varsity player in December but started to get more varsity tick after the New Year. He had a breakout week with big games against St. Paul Central and Moorhead in mid-January and since then he’s been a key factor in Cambridge improvements.

Nolan Dumonceauzx of Forest Lake (5’11 guard). Forest Lake has a very nice sophomore class and Nolan is the best guard of that group. He is Forest Lake’s third leading scorer and one of their key all around players.

[player_tooltip player_id="1293972" first="Eli" last="Hoelz"] of Brainerd (6’0 guard). Eli has been a key player for a really good Brainerd team in that 5th Starter/6th Man type of production role. He leads the team in steals, is a solid finisher going at the rim, and despite being an underclassmen has been a trusted player for the Warriors.

Braden Luksik of Bemidji (6’5 forward). Braden is the younger brother of [player_tooltip player_id="958663" first="Gavin" last="Luksik"] who is a senior. Braden has been solid in his role as the reserve big support behind Gavin and [player_tooltip player_id="962232" first="Isaac" last="Severts"].

John Troolin of Cambridge-Isanti (6’1 guard). After a rough start the Bluejackets have won 7 of 10 and John is a key part of that. He’s scored 10 points a game this year including hitting double digits in seven of the last nine contests.

[player_tooltip player_id="1284201" first="Owen" last="Waldoch"] of Forest Lake (6’6 forward). One of the best sophomore stories of the season has been the play of [player_tooltip player_id="1284201" first="Owen" last="Waldoch"]. The 6’6 forward is scoring 19 points a game and he does it in the form of a face-up four man that can also score around the basket. Owen had a season high 30 at CDH and just scored 22 against the Park combo of [player_tooltip player_id="958715" first="Pharrel" last="Payne"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1143877" first="Jamari" last="Walker"]. That alone should get people buzzing. All State Sophomore caliber player who is more agile than people know as well.

Dylan Zimmerman of Moorhead (6’5 forward). On December 18th Dylan exploded for 30 points helping the Spuds beat Bemidji. That was one of the biggest breakout games we’ve seen this season and Zimmerman went for 20 or more points eight times since that day. Zimmerman is averaging 15 points a game this season and that was after a slow (relative to the rest of the season) start to the year.
