There's no question who the best player on the floor was throughout the 4A tournament, as the future Iowa State lead guard was absolutely dominant on both ends of the floor throughout the week. He culminated his high school career by posting a triple-double of 11-11-10 while leading the Little Cyclones to a 31-point win in the championship game.

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="682277" first="Trevion" last="Labeaux"] (Ames)
Stats: 15.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 65.6 FG%

A springy 6-4 athlete, LaBeaux was simply too much for opposing teams to contend with all week on the interior. He was dominant scoring around the rim, a great rebounder, and he provides all sorts of versatility on the defensive end with his combination of athleticism and length.

2023 [player_tooltip player_id="956877" first="Kenzie" last="Reed"] (Kennedy)
Stats: 19.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.5 steals, 54.2 FG%, 58.3 3P%, 83.3 FT%

The 5-11 junior guard was arguably the breakout player of the tournament, putting on a show with everyone tuned in, especially in their quarterfinal win over Northwest when he had 26 points on 8-12 (5-7 3P) shooting. If he's shooting with that type of efficiency, paired with his ability to control the tempo and handle the rock, he's tough to slow down.

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="962635" first="Jake" last="Walter"] (Prairie)
Stats: 11.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.5 steals, 36.8 FG%, 40.0 3P%, 85.7 FT%

Walter was really good in the Hawks' two games, showing his ability to impact the game in a multitude of ways, nearly averaging a double-double from his guard spot. He's a tenacious defender who really gets into opposing ball-handlers, a quality perimeter scoring threat, and is relentless on the glass.

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="682265" first="Trey" last="Campbell"] (Cedar Falls)
Stats: 32 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, 52.4 FG%, 66.7 3P%, 80.0 FT%

The Tigers played just one game at the state tournament, but the future Northern Iowa guard was truly a standout, delivering 32 points in their loss to Prairie, single-handedly keeping Cedar Falls alive late in that quarterfinal setback. He was 6-9 from behind the arc, getting into his shot quickly off the dribble and using his stroke to open up the rest of his game. The Panthers are getting a great one.
