Friday night brings semi-final action across the state as we now are down to 256 teams remaining in the 112th annual IHSAA Boy’s State Tournament. Here are the top games you will want to follow this evening.
Hammond Central (16-7) vs. Munster (20-4)
For our friends up in The Region, Sectional 1 at Lake Central has a high-quality matchup between two teams with sectional title aspirations. Junior guard

Mount Vernon (Fortville) (20-2) vs. Anderson (20-4)
A lot of attention in the Indianapolis area will be split between Sectional 8 and Sectional 10 this evening, but Sectional 9 at Greenfield-Central features a great under-the-radar game between a pair of 20-win teams. The Marauders have quietly won 14 straight games and have only lost to Fishers and Westfield this season. The duo of

who returns from a one-game suspension. The Wildcats have won four straight and six of their last seven.
In the nightcap, we will get a rubber match between Cathedral and Arsenal Tech who split during the regular season including the Irish’s win in the City championship. Expect a fast-paced, high-scoring affair in this one.
Wapahani (19-4) vs. Monroe Central (22-0)
Jump down to the Class 2A level and Section 40 at Alexandria we have a rematch from a February 11th matchup between two teams with aspirations of cutting down the nets. Monroe Central obviously remains undefeated led by Taylor University signee Justin Ullom in the backcourt. Wapahani features a high-scoring duo in sophomore

(18.7 ppg). The Golden Bears won the regular season matchup 54-53. Expect another battle this evening.
Barr-Reeve (16-7) vs. Orleans (17-7)
Sectional 63 at Loogootee is the place to be for fans of Class 1A basketball. Orleans pulled off an upset over the host Loogootee Lions on Tuesday night winning 49-45 in overtime. The road doesn’t get any easier though as they now face another state title contender in Barr-Reeve. The Vikings won the regular season matchup 61-39, but that was way back on December 4th. Do the Bulldogs have more sectional magic left in the tank?
