Lower State 4A Final: Wilson HS vs West Florence HS

<p>The 3rd meeting this season between Wilson HS and West Florence came down to a berth in the Class 4A State Championship Game. These two teams split during the regular season, and this was the so-called rubber match. The Wilson HS Tigers will represent the Lower State in the Class 4A State Championship Game this weekend vs A.C. Flora HS. The Tigers won the Florence City title per say with a 63-50 victory over the Knights. </p> <p><em><strong>Carolina Bad Boyz Reunion</strong></em></p> <p>The Grassroots Circuit the past few summers as featured a Florence based team in the Carolina Bad Boyz. Several members of this program play at these two respected schools. These players might be rivals tonight but very good friends in the off season and during the Grassroots season. </p> <p><em><strong>No Seniors on the Tigers Roster </strong></em></p> <p>Wilson HS Head Coach Carlos Powell a former University of South Carolina Gamecock has to be smiling. His Tigers squad now (22-5) have no seniors on this year’s roster at all. </p> <p><em><strong>Balance Attack for Tigers </strong></em></p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="865290" first="Merel" last="Burgess"]</strong> a left-handed undersized post player led the way for the Tigers with 12 points.<strong> [player_tooltip player_id="865294" first="Zandae" last="Butler"]</strong> and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1295790" first="Jevon" last="Brown"]</strong> both finished with 11 points. Lloyd plays more of a point guard position while Hudson looks to play off the ball. The duo both play in the backfield in the fall for the football team. Lloyd a running back and Hudson plays Quarterback. </p> <p><em><strong>McBride Exits with a Solid Game </strong></em></p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1048143" first="Avion" last="McBride"]</strong> played his last high school basketball game this evening. McBride a Georgia State University football signee finished with 12 points tonight. McBride was able to slam a few down working the baseline. Teammate <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1295771" first="Valerian" last="Bruce"]</strong> finished his career with 6 points for the Knights. </p> <p>The Wilson HS Tigers will represent the Magic City in the Class 4A State Championship on Saturday night vs A.C.
