The event was held at the Tarkanian Basketball Academy located at 2730 S Rancho Dr. All games from the camp will be live-streamed on the 7outz Network. This camp platform provides an opportunity for unknown players to get discovered, and the event features several prospects ready to take advantage of the opportunity. The camp featured over 40 prospects all looking to catch the eyes of scouts and coaches. In this article, we take a look at some eye-opening performances from the event.
Bobby Holmes 6’1 CG Desert Vally Prep – Holmes was a late-minute addition to the camp, but a pleasant surprise. He caught my eye during the skills portion, with his wiggle and handle, and during 5 on 5 play, he showed he was able to create shots for himself. The combo displayed some wiggle and was able to knock down his share of mid-range jumpers.
Mason Muir Mason Muir 6'2" | SG Liberty | 2022 State NV 6’2 SG Liberty (#77) – Muir showed just how much talent the state champs had. Despite playing spot minutes for Liberty, the guard showed he had some game. He’s a skilled offensive scorer, who has better driving and shooting skills than I realized. He has good size for the position and showed some dribble drive ability.
Damion Byrd Damion Byrd 5'10" | PG Silverado | 2022 State NV 5’10 PG Silverado (#31) – I was happy to see Byrd play. The PG looked good and reminded me why I like him so much when he is healthy. He was one of the top floor generals at the camp, consistently showing the ability to get by defenders, draw and kick. I’ve always loved the way he plays the game from the neck up, at the camp he showed the ability to impact games on the offensive end, with his dribble-drive and passing ability.
Jacques Williams Jr Jacques Williams Jr 5'9" | PG Arbor View | 2022 NV 5’9 PG Arbor View (featured image) – Willams impressed me with his passing ability. I’m still searching on film for a pass he made. From halfcourt, the PG threw a rope to a teammate under the basket. His accuracy was so flawless, that he couldn’t have walked over and handed the ball to the player any better. He also flashed his usual defensive skills, Using quick hands to get on ball steals.
Chyler Evens 6’2 PG Mojave – Evens was one of the fastest players with the ball in his hands. The PG was a blur who changed ends at breakneck speeds. Perhaps most impressive about his play style was his ability to finish despite playing at high speeds. Several times evens was able to sprint into the lane take contact and complete 3 point plays.
Tristan Scott Tristan Scott 6'3" | SF Democracy Prep | 2022 State NV 6’3 SG Democracy Prep (#64) – Scott impressed me with his shooting. I always knew he was a capable shooter, however, I had no idea he had this kind of range. He’s looking like a clear candidate for my all irrational confidence team, as the 6’3 sniper was not shy about letting the ball fly from deep. Scott made a bunch of threes from past the NBA line, opening everyone eye’s with his deep shooting ability.
Dominic Washington Dominic Washington 5'9" | PG Green Valley | 2022 State NV 5’8 PG Green Valley (#83) – I have always enjoyed watching Washington play. The jitterbug PG played with good energy and can change the tempo with his speed on offense. What he opened my eyes with on Sunday was his shooting. Washington knocked down more than his share of open jumpers, proving it to be a weapon, opening up the floor for his dribble-drive attack.
