The Division 2, 3 and 4 Michigan state playoffs each have 8 teams left standing. Every team in each bracket has a solid roster with talented players and a legitimate claim at a state title. Here are my predictions for each divisions quarterfinal round.

DIVISION 2

GRAND RAPIDS CATHOLIC CENTRAL VS. BENTON HARBOR

The Details: 3/22, 7PM at Calvin University

Prediction: Grand Rapids Catholic Central

FERNDALE VS. PONTIAC NOTRE DAME PREP

The Details: 3/22, 7PM at St. Clair County Community Fieldhouse

Prediction: Ferndale

WILLIAMSTON VS. DETROIT EDISON

The Details: 3/22, 7PM at Chelsea High School

Prediction: Williamston

CADILLAC VS. FREELAND

The Details: 3/22, 7PM at Central Montcalm High School

Prediction: Freeland

2 KEY PLAYERS IN D2

[player_tooltip player_id="987285" first="Grant" last="Gondrezick"] (2022, PG, Benton Harbor)

Gondrezick is so severely underrated. This young man can play with ANYONE in the state. If he comes out feeling it, Gondrezick can put a big time game together and help Benton Harbor to the state championship game.

[player_tooltip player_id="863940" first="Jacob" last="Wallace"] (2022, SG, Williamston)

DEPSA has athletes and speed for days. Wallace is the guy for Williamston that can match that, and even keep it in check. If Wallace can play fast and offset DEPSA’s speed in the open floor, Williamston moves on.

DIVISION 3

MENOMINEE VS. GRAYLING

The Details: 3/22, 6PM Sault Area High School

Prediction: Grayling

BATH VS. ECORSE

The Details: 3/22, 7PM at Lumen Christi High School

Prediction: Ecorse

PEWAMO-WESTPHALIA VS. SCHOOLCRAFT

The Details: 3/22, 7PM at Robert Quiring Gymnasium

Prediction: Schoolcraft

NEW HAVEN VS. FLINT BEECHER

The Details: 3/22, 7PM at Bendle High School

Prediction: Flint Beecher

2 KEY PLAYERS IN D3

[player_tooltip player_id="1068264" first="Dylan" last="Cragg"] (2022, SG, Grayling)

As you see above, I picked Grayling to advance. [player_tooltip player_id="1068264" first="Dylan" last="Cragg"] is a huge reason. I really like how he’s playing and what he’s bringing to the table for his team. If he gets it done on both ends, his team moves on.

Kenneth Morrast Jr. (2023, PG, Ecorse)

Morrast Jr. has flown under the radar a bit, but there’s no doubt that this young man can play. He’s put up big numbers throughout the playoffs and Ecorse will look for that to continue.

DIVISION 4

EWEN-TROUT CREEK VS. RUDYARD

The Details: 3/22, 7PM at Munising High School

Prediction: Rudyard

LAKE LEELANAU ST. MARY VS. FULTON

The Details: 3/22, 7PM at Lake City High School

Prediction: Lake Leelanau St. Mary

WYOMING TRI-UNITY VS. ADRIAN LENAWEE CHRISTIAN

The Details: 3/22, 7PM at Portage Northern High School

Prediction: Wyoming Tri-Unity

SOUTHFIELD CHRISTIAN VS. GENESEE CHRISTIAN

The Details: 3/22, 7PM at West Bloomfield High School

Prediction: Southfield Christian

2 KEY PLAYERS IN D4

[player_tooltip player_id="1300936" first="Uchenna" last="Amene"] (2024, PG, Southfield Christian)

Amene brings some explosiveness to the game. He has blow by speed and can get off the ground with control. If Amene sees too much open floor, it spells trouble for his opponents.

[player_tooltip player_id="1349407" first="Tyler" last="VanEtten"] (2022, SG, Adrian Lenawee Christian)

Lenawee Christian is going to have to try to match the star power of Tri-Unity Christian’s [player_tooltip player_id="863922" first="Brady" last="Titus"], and I think VanEtten is the guy that can do it. He’s played especially big in some big games and has the firepower in his game to make a run.
