Johnson started the game as a hard working post scorer, using his tall and imposing frame to muscle in physical scores. After drilling a buzzer beating deep three to end the first frame, he showed that he’s a true inside-out threat. Johnson scored 28 points with outstanding efficiency. He was 12-16 from the field and 4-6 from three.
Avrey Payne Avrey Payne 6'4" | SG Marlow | 2023 State OK , 6’5 Junior Guard, Marlow
The lanky guard has a good feel for the game as a playmaker and good body control for player his size. He only scored 6 points on the night, but two of them were from an impressive transition slam
Jaden Nickens Jaden Nickens 6'3" | CG Douglass | 2025 State OK , 6’3 Freshman, Guard, Millwood
The top freshman in Oklahoma, Nickens continues to be ridiculously advanced for his age. He’s one of the few three level scorers in Oklahoma where it’s clear that his scoring ability would be translatable to the next level. At the rim, he’s physical and crafty as a finisher. And he makes a living in the midrange with dribble hesitations and other moves to create separation. Defensively, he’s a ballhawk with great instincts, which brings out his showmanship ability in transition as a finisher and passer.
Any issues with his game are nit-picky. There are times he can let a whistle or lack of a whistle impact his mood on the court. But overall he plays the game with outstanding energy and the swagger he plays with is often backed up by advanced skillset and his production. The sky really does look to be the limit for the outstanding Falcon freshman.
Reid Carson, 6’7 Sophomore Forward, Kingston
Foul trouble hampered the promising sophomore in the first half. In the third quarter his size was a big influence in the rally by Kingston. He’s skinny, but was willing to mix it out against a physical Falcon team. Size is always a premium at the next and his height makes Carson a sophomore to keep an eye on.
Luke Gray Luke Gray 6'7" | PF Oklahoma Christian | 2024 State OK , 6’6 Sophomore Forward, Oklahoma Christian School
Foul trouble prevented what could’ve been an absolute nuclear performance from the outstanding sophomore. He played just under 16 minutes on the night and still poured in 24 points. Gray has an outstanding motor and a killer instinct that he puts to great use as a rebounder and finisher around the rim. He’s already super strong for his age. That strength along with his great leaping ability and wingspan allows him to play bigger than his size.
What’s impressive is that he’s not just a bull in the china shop. He’s already showing that along with the potential to be deadly in the “pick and roll” as a roller, he can also step out and nail three pointers in “pick and pop” action. He went 2 of 3 from beyond the arc. In a sophomore class with good depth behind a national headliner, Gray is one of the most promising prospects.
