Bound Brook Rumson-Fair Haven: Impact Performers

<p>State championship games are always full of excitement as teams are trying to take home hardware. Bound Brook and Rumson Fair-Haven squared off for the Central Jersey Group 2 title, which the Bulldogs won 75-44. Here are the top impact performers from the Central Jersey Group 2 final between Bound Brook and Rumson Fair-Haven.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1027932" first="Scott" last="Gyimesi"], 6’6 SF/PF Rumson Fair-Haven 2022</strong></p> <p>Gyimesi was unstoppable in the final as he went off for 24 points and 20 rebounds. The Tufts commit has exceptional footwork, which he used to get position and finish around the basket. Gyimesi has a nice touch around the basket and was able to draw contact throughout the game. He ripped down rebounds on both ends of the floor and influenced multiple shots on defense. Gyimesi is a talented forward prospect who has been a force all season for Rumson Fair-Haven.</p> <p><strong>Owen Sullivan, 6’0 PG Rumson Fair-Haven 2022</strong></p> <p>Sullivan controlled the tempo of the game as the Crusaders were unable to speed him up. The 6’0 guard was tough to contain in the pick and roll as he was consistently able to get into the lane and finish. Sullivan shot the ball with confidence from distance and made good decisions with the ball in his hands. He moved his feet well on the defensive end as he made it hard for Bound Brook to get into their offense. Sullivan is a gritty lead guard prospect who made winning plays all season long for Rumson Fair-Haven.</p> <p><strong>Cal Famula, 6’3 G/F Rumson Fair-Haven 2022</strong></p> <p>Famula was the perfect third scoring option for the Bulldogs as he hit big shots for them throughout the night. The 6’3 wing moved exceptionally well off the ball, creating open shots for him on the perimeter. Famula has a clean release on his jumper and shot the ball without hesitation. He made good passes in the half court and ran the floor well in transition. Femula’s ability to knock down shots on the perimeter will be needed if the Bulldogs want to continue in the state tournament.</p> <p><b>Donovan Newihamy, 6’1 SG Bound Brook 2022</b></p> <p>Newihamy led the Crusaders with 13 points as he was the only one able to get anything going on the offensive end. The 6’1 guard finished nicely around the basket and was able to draw contact. Newihamy showed a good touch on his jumper as he knocked down an open jumper from behind the arc. He moved his feet well on the defensive end and fought for rebounds on both ends. Newihamy had a good career for Bound Brook as he provided the Crusaders with grit on the perimeter.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="931025" first="Geoff" last="Schroeder"], 6’0 CG Rumson Fair-Haven 2022</strong></p> <p>Schroeder had a strong game against Bound Brook as he did a variety of different things for the Bulldogs. The Johns Hopkins commit played tenacious on-ball defense as he made it tough for the Crusaders to get into their offense. Schroeder has a nice shooting stroke as he wastes little motion and does not need a lot of space to get his shot off. He moved well off the ball and made smart decisions with the ball in his hands. Schroeder is a hard-working guard who does whatever it takes to help Rumson Fair-Haven. </p>
