Some exciting players displayed their talents during the Final Four, the biggest stage of the year; here are a few…
Logan Patterson Logan Patterson 6'3" | CG Section | 2022 State AL (6’3/Combo Guard/2022)
School: Section HS

Logan was a scoring machine as he averaged 28pts during the Final Four. He had all the physical tools and put them all on display. He consistently put pressure on the defense in both the open court and the half-court.
He attacked and finished through contact as he has a solid frame and strength along with it.
He impacted the game on both ends of the court, as defensively, he got several steals and made several deflections in both the semifinal and the finals. He was a vocal leader for his squad on defense and simply had a very mature performance. If anyone’s stock rose throughout the Final Four, Logan’s definitely did. Here is a look at his stats over the two games:
Semifinals:
20pts (8-11; 73% from the field); 8-assist
Finals:
36pts (13-25; 52% from the field) (2-5; 40% from three); 12-rebounds
Connor Pigg (6’3/Wing/2023)
School: Mars Hill
Instagram: N/A
Twitter: @connor_pigg
There wasn’t anything about Connor’s semifinal game that would have piqued your interest, but he put on a huge performance in the championship game, despite his team coming up short. Connor scored at all levels, and it was his scoring that kept Mars Hill keeping track in the first half. He shot it well in the championship game and took advantage of the stage, and as a junior, he had a performance that could have interest coming from those at the next level. His stats over the two games were as follows:
Semifinals:
9pts (3-8; 38% from the field) (1-3; 33% from three) 5-assist
Finals:
20pts (8-11; 73% from the field) (2-4; 50% from three); 7-rebounds
Alex Guinn (6’3/Guard/2022)
School: Section HS

Twitter: N/A
Alex left the final four, contributing double figures to the team’s state championship run. He was highly aggressive off the bounce and was constantly putting pressure on the interior of the defenses. Once he got in the paint, he finished well or hit open teammates for open shots. He is a scorer that got it done at all levels. He shot a very good percentage throughout the Final Four because he took a lot of high percentage shots in the paint. His stat line for both games was as follows:
Semifinals:
24pts (9-18; 50% from the field) (2-6; 33% from three)
Finals:
15pts (6-12; 50% from the field) (2-5; 40% from three)
Keldric Faulk Keldric Faulk 6'6" | PF Highland Home | 2023 AL (6’6/Forward/2023)
School: Highland Home
Instagram: N/A

Keldric is the unquestionable leader for the Highland Home squad, and he led his team in a valiant effort in the semifinals game but came up 2pts short to Mars Hill. Keldric produced at a high level in the scoring and rebounding categories. He competed with tremendous effort on both ends of the floor, and even though his squad came up short, a good off-season could have him ready to lead his team to try and finish the job where they came up short this year. One thing that raised my eyebrow concerning Keldric’s game was his six turnovers, which he will have to value the ball more. He had an impressive stat line in the semifinal game, which is below:
Semifinals:
21pts (10-17; 59% from the field); 17-rebounds
Markavious Atkinson (6’2/Wing/2022)
School: Lanett HS
Instagram: N/A
Twitter: @MarkaviousAtk
The strength of Markavious’ game is getting to the rack off the bounce. He finished well off the bounce, which contributed to his high shooting percentage from the field. He was very efficient from the floor while scoring in a variety of ways once he got in the paint. Despite his team falling short, he was competitive, tough, and aggressive. His stat line was as follows:
Semifinals:
19pts (9-15; 60% from the field) (1-2; 50% from three); 8-rebounds
