2024: Sophomore Positional Rankings: CG’s

<p>The 2024 rankings are out.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>We dive into the positional rankings. We now look at the combo guards for the sophomore class. </p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Here are the top-8 CG’s in the 2024 class: (A talented group with all 8 in the Top-32 including 3 in the Top-8).</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1225245" first="Malachi" last="Palmer"]<strong> Hillcrest Prep</strong></p> <p>A bigger combo guard plays on or off the ball. He handled a lot of point guard duties before he suffered an injury. He uses his strength, elite size and tight handle to get downhill to score or make a play. He also can shoot it from the perimeter.  </p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1172137" first="Adam" last="Njie Jr"] <strong>Hillcrest Prep (Pictured) </strong></p> <p>A gifted combo is one of the top scorers of the group. He is a true three level scorer with a knack for getting to the basket. He has euros, floaters and scores through contact. He has a nasty pull-up off the dribble from mid to the 3pt line. </p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="996166" first="Braeden" last="Speed"] <strong>Brophy Prep</strong></p> <p>We have talked about him a lot on here recently and he is definitely worthy of it all. He is the top defender in the AIA, he is an improved shooter and just brings endless energy on both sides of the court. He is also a good passer and plays with a huge IQ.  </p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1152187" first="Luke" last="Shaw"] <strong>Valley Christian </strong></p> <p>Arguably the top shooter on the list and he is one of the better shooters in the 2024 class. He spins it exactly how you should with nearly perfect ball rotation. He has one of the faster triggers and has that moxie where the next one is going in. He plays on or off the ball throughout a game. </p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1305181" first="Tommy" last="Randolph"] <strong>Phoenix Christian</strong> </p> <p>A thick and well-built combo guard gets downhill with the best of them. He has a quick first step and he takes long strides and he will score. His handle allows him to create his own shot. He makes shots from all levels but prefers to touch the paint.  </p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1036000" first="Khalon" last="Johnson"] <strong>Bella Vista Prep</strong></p> <p>One of the better athletic defenders on the list. He is a quick-twitched athlete who comes with length and good defensive awareness. He gets out in transition and scores it with acrobatic layups. He can hit the catch-3 and is a sneaky good passer. </p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1284862" first="AJ" last="Osman"] <strong>Dream City Christian </strong></p> <p>Another top-notch defensive combo guard is quick and wiry strong. He is a catch and shoot type of scorer but is good on the break and will make the correct read. </p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="996741" first="Deven" last="Johnson"] <strong>AZ Compass Prep</strong></p> <p>A slick lefty has a sweet shooting touch from mid to the 3pt line. He has some range on his shot and can also slide over to run the team. He is probably a shoot first type but can make any pass needed. </p>
