2023 Rankings Update: Top Power Forwards

<p>The 2023 class is the most loaded we have seen for a while and there is depth at every position group. Here’s a look a the top power forwards in the Junior Class. This list does not include players who were in the top 10 of the class.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="801613" first="Tyson" last="Barrett"], Frederick Douglass - Tyson's stock continues to trend way up and would be near the top of the prospect list in any other class in Kentucky. Barrett is long and athletic and has improved his versatility over the last few seasons where he is more comfortable away from the basket and putting the ball on the floor. He earned his first D1 offer a couple of months back and should add more this summer.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1108411" first="Trent" last="Edwards"], GRC - Tyson's cousin, Trent is a lot like Barrett on the court as both are long and bouncy and are good rim protectors who can do some good things on offense. Edwards is probably the least heralded player at GRC but he may have the highest long term potential. He's a good shooter who could be a great stretch 4 in the right college system.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1043602" first="Jaden" last="Biggers"], Bryan Station - Jaden is a player who looks like a future D1 player in some games and disappears in others but once he gets more consistent, his upside is among the best in the 23 class. Biggers has some ball skills and can catch and shoot well at 6'6. He's a skilled finisher around the bucket and has long reminded me of former NAIA Player of the Year Victor Moses from Georgetown College.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1215546" first="Christian" last="Collins"], Breathitt County - Collins is a bit of an enigma as he hasn't really played AAU so he's a little off the radar with colleges but there aren't many 6'8 rim runners in Kentucky with the long term potential that Christian has as a prospect. He earned an early offer from Pikeville last summer and should be on the radar for D1 coaches as he can be a really good player at the college level in the near future.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="932777" first="Chandler" last="Starks"], Covington Catholic - Starks may be the most skilled player in the group as he is able to score with his back to the basket or facing up and can catch the ball in the high post and make great reads as a passer. He's taken on a secondary role at Covington Catholic but should be a primary option next season.
