The 2023 rankings are out.

We dive into the positional rankings. We now look at the combo guards for the junior class.

Here are the top-8 CG’s in the 2023 class:

[player_tooltip player_id="831114" first="Cody" last="Williams"] Perry (Pictured)

Not many in the West are longer and taller then Cody. He was essentially the point guard all year long and makes the correct reads to his team. He takes just a few strides to get to rim to dunk it and has a crisp catch-3. He uses his length and bounce on defense, as he was one of the better defenders in 6A.

[player_tooltip player_id="831119" first="Jason" last="Fontenet Jr"] Bella Vista Prep

Another bigger sized combo guard missed the year with an injury but is due back this late spring/summer. He is a true shot maker from all three levels. He has a mean pull-up from mid to the 3pt line and uses his size and strength to score in the paint.

[player_tooltip player_id="831122" first="Vincent" last="Delano"] Phhoenix Prep

A sniper from deep thrown in with some serious springs. He gets out on the break looking to throw it down and he has deep range with a quick trigger. He plays some on the ball but likes catching and shooting best.

[player_tooltip player_id="996161" first="Lashy" last="Perez"] Apollo

An athletic combo guard has a good blend of scoring and facilitating. He has a shifty handle with a burst to the rim and then can finish or slither a pass to a teammate. He had 12 assists versus Horizon and scored 19 vs a talented Peoria team.

[player_tooltip player_id="814508" first="Andrew" last="Camacho"] Peoria

Speaking of Peoria, Andrew is Mr. Peoria. He was on automatic most of the year. He averaged 26.5 ppg including 40 vs Paradise Honors and an impressive 44 vs state champs Mesquite. He is one of the top shooters in 4A and proved it all year long from long range and from mid.

[player_tooltip player_id="1301337" first="Marquese" last="Josephs"] Bella Vista Prep

An improved player as the year went on, handled the back up point guard duties on their Grind Session team. He has great open court speed, a sturdy frame and springs to finish above the crowd. His 3pt shooting steadily improved and so did his decision making. He is also a physical on-ball defender.

[player_tooltip player_id="814521" first="Aadem" last="Isai"] Valley Vista

Another true combo guard sprays the ball around with either hand. He is surprisingly very good with his left hand. He has unlimited 3pt range and understands how to change speeds and get to the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id="814516" first="Bryce" last="Ford"] Pinnacle

A lefty sniper with ultra confidence from the outside. He likes the mid-range pull-up but will let it fly with deep range. He is also a sneaky good passer and athletic, as most focus on his shooting ability.
