15) Jacob Rice Jacob Rice 6'7" | SF Miller School | 2022 State VA | 6’7” | Miller School (#37 Overall)
Rice is one of the most versatile players at his size in the Charlottesville area, as he can play the 3-5 and has a skillset that makes him a walking mismatch and allows him to impact the game in a number of different ways. He’s a good shooter from deep who is consistent and can get his shot off with his size, he’s an above average athlete who can attack the glass and finish at and above the rim and he’s shown the ability to impact the game without scoring on the defensive end and on the glass too.
14) Elliot Black | 6’6” | St. Stephen’s St. Agnes (#36 Overall)
Black is arguably the most under recruited guy in my opinion in the NOVA area if not in the entire state, as the 6’6” post player may not have the positional size D1s are looking for but he consistently produces and gets it done against bigger players. He’s very explosive and he’s quick off his feet and able to finish above the rim in traffic, he attacks the glass relentlessly and plays with a great motor and he’s done it time and time again when I’ve watched him against top notch competition.
13) Reis Jones Reis Jones 6'10" | C Flint Hill | 2022 State VA | 6’8” | Flint Hill (#35 Overall)
Jones is one of those guys you’ve watched improve over the past few years and he looks like a completely different player than he did a few years ago as he not only gotten better but grown as well. He has very long arms and is explosive off his feet as a rebounder and a big time shot blocker, he can run the floor and finishes well above the rim and he has better understanding of what he’s doing on the offensive end of the floor.
12) Ethan DeLaurier Ethan DeLaurier 6'8" | PF Miller | 2022 State VA | 6’8” | Miller School (#31 Overall)
DeLaurier is another player that looks completely different than he did a few years ago when he first started playing at STAB, as he has improved immensely on the offensive end to become a big time stretch big. He has good length and plays hard on both ends fo the floor, he has become a knock down shooter from deep with a quick release and good confidence in his ability to space the floor and he consistently makes winning plays on both ends of the floor.
11) Ben Hall Ben Hall 6'7" | C Loudoun Valley | 2022 State VA | 6’8”” | Loudoun Valley (#30 Overall)
Hall is one of the most underrated players because he plays for a public school in an area dominated by the private school leagues, but he is a big and physical post player with soft touch and good hands that gets it done consistently. He can seal and finish over either shoulder and can catch tough passes, he can step out to 18 feet where he shoots it consistently and makes his free throws and he’s a wall in the paint where he can contest shots without fouling and rebounds well on both ends.
10) David Onanina David Onanina 6'6" | PF Bishop O'Connell | 2022 State VA | 6’6” | Bishop O’Connell (#28 Overall)
Onanina has consistently been one of the most productive bigs in the illustrious WCAC over the past few years, and he’s an animal of a competitor who will do all the dirty work for his team. Despite his size, he has led the league in rebounds for multiple seasons already, he is explosive around the rim and is a bully in the paint and whether or not he’s scoring the ball he always finds a way to be productive and make his team better.
9) Greg Melvin Greg Melvin 6'7" | PF Cape Henry | 2022 State VA | 6’7” | Cape Henry (#27 Overall)
Melvin has been a mainstay in the TCIS over the past few years, and he’s one of the most versatile bigs in the 757 with his athleticism and skill set that has gotten better over the past few years. He runs like a wing and can get up and down the floor and crashes the glass well, he can put it on the deck and attack in straight lines where he can finish or make plays for others and he’s a versatile defender who can guard multiple positions too.
8) Keyontae Lewis Keyontae Lewis 6'7" | PF LC Bird | 2022 State VA | 6’8” | LC Bird (#26 Overall)
Lewis recently announced that he will be attending Massanutten on a post grad year next year after also receiving First Team All Region nods, and he’s one coaches should keep a close eye on with the way he’s already transformed his body and continues to improve. He’s a big kid who has control of the paint and can muscle smaller bigs, he has soft touch in the paint and has shown he can pass out of the post and step out to the elbows and his improvement in his body has him flying all over the place and finishing above the rim with more consistency.
7) Kyrese Mullen Kyrese Mullen 6'6" | PF Massanutten | 2022 State VA | 6’6” | Massanutten (#19 Overall)
The guy Lewis will replace when he gets to Massanutten, Mullen has steadily gotten better in his time there improving his body and his game, and he’s been very productive for one of the top post grad programs in the country. The 6’6” post plays much bigger than his listed height as he outmuscles guys in the paint and can rebound over them and finish with either hand when he creates space, he has improved to become a consistent floor spacer that can pick and pop and work on the perimeter and he brings a toughness to his team you can’t teach.
6) Miles Webb Miles Webb 6'7" | PF St. Stephen's St. Agnes | 2022 State VA | 6’7” | St. Stephen’s St. Agnes (#18 Overall)
Webb is one of the most intriguing long term prospects in the state, and he’s one I believe St. Francis (PA) got a steal in as he has so much potential to tap in as he continues to improve and become more consistent. He’s a long and athletic forward who can play inside-out with his ability to put it on the deck and make shots from deep, he is a big time defender who can stay in front of guards and wings while also coming help side to block shots and he can play in transition well and finish above the rim when he gets downhill.
