Gavin Garlitz (Tippecanoe)
On a night when the Red Devils needed physicality to match the Chaminade-Julienne Eagles, Garlitz brought just that. Even in a losing effort, Tipp’s senior leader made plays during the game on both ends of the floor. Fought on the glass and and competed with the Eagles’ bigger guards and wings for offensive rebounds. Dove on the floor and made hustle plays. Was able to get good penetration off the bounce and get shot opportunities in the paint.
Luke Jackson (Indian Lake)
The Lakers got their offensive scoring from sophomore Caiden Nicol in a win against Dayton Christian, but Jackson impacted the game in different ways. When he is bringing offense to the table, his range is impressive. Pulled up from near college range and was getting nothing but net. His shot selection brought confidence but he obviously did more than just shoot. Jackson made the hustle plays for the Lakers and was important on the defensive end on-ball and just being a pest for Dayton Christian’s guards.
Patrick Fultz (Shawnee)
Shawnee typically gets their offense and buzz from their juniors Zion Crowe Zion Crowe 6'4" | SG Springfield Shawnee | 2023 State OH and RJ Griffin. In the game with Anna, it was arguably Fultz who was the biggest impact. The PG led the Braves in scoring and was physical on the offensive end against the Anna Rockets who defensively were prepared for Fultz and Crowe. Tough-nosed and aggressive. He made hustle plays on both ends of the floor and was crucial in the Braves late win over Anna.
Ashton Young (Catholic Central)
Young is committed to the University of Dayton for football, but one can tell his physicality on the gridiron carries over to the basketball court. Young has incredible quickness on the bounce and had great penetration against Cedarville throughout the evening. His patience on midrange shots was impressive as he seemingly hovered in mid-air on his shots in the paint. Aggressive on the glass and was impressive for a guard in rebounds.
Ian Galluch (Catholic Central)
Galluch is a jack-of-all-trades for the Irish and was an X-Factor for the Irish in their win against Cedarville. An absolute glue-guy on Cedarville’s Tyler Cross Tyler Cross 6'1" | PG Cedarville | 2024 OH and just made his life difficult to get clean shots off. An intense defender that was willing to literally dive on the floor and battle with Cedarville players. Galluch can get through and around screens and just plays with an impressive motor. If a D3 is looking for a last minute add, Galluch may be worth looking into at the guard position.
