Who are the top sophomores competing at the varsity level right now in Class AAAA basketball? We give you the sophomore elite from the eastern metro.

[player_tooltip player_id="1378113" first="Elijah" last="Barrett"] of Tartan (6’4 Forward). Barrett is a wing with a lot of potential. He’s scoring 6/7 points a contest and has bought into the Titan defensive system which has allowed him to be a factor early in his career. Barrett looks to be the next big talent in the Titan system.

[player_tooltip player_id="1284104" first="Charlie" last="Bern"] of East Ridge (6’4 Forward). [player_tooltip player_id="1284104" first="Charlie" last="Bern"] has been a key to the Raptor season playing a mature, tough game scoring seven points a contest for a top five team in Class AAAA basketball. Didn’t expect Bern to have this level of an impact and it will be exciting to see how he continues to improve.

Max Buslee/Owen Ford/Jack Hansen of Eagan (6’0, 6’0, 6’4). All three sophomores from Eagan have played a varsity role this season for the Cats. Buslee and Ford have provided guard depth while Hansen is a 6’4 forward that can score.

Quentin Cobb-Butler of Woodbury (5’9 guard). Quentin is a speedy, quick ball pressuring guard that has allowed Woodbury to play a full 36 minutes of defense each night. Cobb-Butler has explosive speed, gets great lift into the attempt, and laterally can swarm a player.

Joe Hoheisel of Stillwater (6’2 guard). The Ponies have had a nice season with a team full of experienced guards. Joe has found a spot in that guard rotation playing each night and scoring a couple baskets a contest.

[player_tooltip player_id="1293964" first="Brody" last="Radtke"] of Tartan (6’7 Big). Brody has stepped forward to give the Titans a bigger frontline than expected pairing with two solid players in [player_tooltip player_id="1288683" first="Sam" last="Yanz"] and [player_tooltip player_id="958759" first="Marko" last="Vukomanovich"]. Brody has come off the bench to score a couple times a game and grab 3-4 boards backing up those seniors. A hard working player.

[player_tooltip player_id="1284105" first="Charlie" last="Theis"] of East Ridge (6’4 wing). Theis is a player I am really high on. Love his confident approach and dependable play despite being a younger player. A good shooter, tough competitor, and has averaged 6/7 points a game for the Raptors. Has been used in a few different ways for his team.
