2024 [player_tooltip player_id="1055718" first="Chris" last="Cornish"] 6’4 Guard
Cornish is without question the most athletic of these underclassmen. He plays well above the rim regularly catching lobs and put-back dunks. Chris is an exciting player to watch push the ball in transition.

The Sophomore is also known for his tenacious blocks, sometimes pinning layups to the backboard off a chase down. Cornish’s jump shot is evolving. I Expect his hard work to pay off and we’ll see this high-level prospect knocking down consistent 3’s in the very near future raising his stock value even higher.

2024 [player_tooltip player_id="1053914" first="Blake" last="Maddox"] 6’3 Guard
Blake has played a vital role in his team’s success at South Fort Myers this season. Averaging 13.1 PPG, 7 rebounds, and almost 3 APG. This big guard makes sure his presence on the court is felt.

Maddox demonstrates an effective handle as well as the ability to hit the spot-up 3. Using his size, he effectively boxes out and secures rebounds better than any guard in the area. Blake can be one of the top names in the area if he continues his hard work in the offseason.

2024 [player_tooltip player_id="1171938" first="Tyler" last="Diaz"] 5’11 Point Guard
Tyler has made strides in his confidence as a point guard for Lehigh this season. He controls the pace with great composure even when being picked up full court. Diaz has a quick first step and boasts a crafty ability to finish around the rim in traffic.

His on-ball defensive ability is where he begins to shine. Developing a consistent jump shot would immediately make him one of the better guards in SWFL.

2024 [player_tooltip player_id="1163621" first="Leroy" last="Roker"] 6’1 Point Guard
In Roker’s first year with Canterbury, he’s taken a leadership role in this young team and helped lead them into one of the area’s better programs. He’s shown sparks of great court vision and an ability to get to the basket.

I’d like to see this prospect shoot the ball a little more. Overall Leroy had a great outing this season helping push the Cougars to an 18-8 record. It should also be mentioned he leads his team in PPG 14.8, APG 3.4, and steals.

2024 [player_tooltip player_id="1055743" first="Justin" last="Heinrichs"] 6’4 Guard
At this point, it’s no secret that Justin is the best shooter in SWFL regardless of class. Currently shooting 45% from behind the arc on 165 attempts are remarkable numbers for a high school prospect, let alone a sophomore.

Would love to see this prospect add another dimension to his game, his stock would quickly rise. Look for this sophomore to remain a staple in the Cougar’s offense for years to come.

2025 David Church 5’11 Point Guard
The lone freshman on the list, Church has had a breakout season playing varsity as a freshman and in the second half of the season has played a big role in some of this team’s wins. This young man is fearless and will not hesitate to pull up for the 3, he shows a level of confidence in his jump shot that generally isn’t seen in freshmen.

I expect David to evolve into one of the better shooters in the 239, given he dedicates himself to his craft. Look for this guard to be Dunbar’s go-to guy next season.
