This week was full of great games that had lots of great players in them. I saw some exciting prospects and look forward to giving you my evaluations each and every Sunday throughout the season. It is time to recap this week and look at what our exciting prospects did.

Bishop Dwenger: vs Leo 2/16

[player_tooltip player_id="870283" first="Owen" last="Shively"] – 6’4 2022 SF: Shively is long wing with size and man did he have a night here. Shot the ball so well from behind the arc and at one point in the first half had nailed four straight threes in a row. Just works so well off the ball and seemed to be always set for the quick catch-and-shoot. Was not as physical like the last time I saw him but really there was no need for him to be as the outside jumpers were his best friend this game. Small schools, if you are looking for a big sized wing that can shoot and often mix it up inside, Shively could be your guy.

[player_tooltip player_id="1270019" first="Joe" last="Kelly"] – 6’5 2022 PF: Kelly is a big post prospect with sneaky athleticism. He has been injured for sometime this season but when he is on the floor, he provides so much power and strength for this Dwenger team. He was setting some solid screens and was able to roll easy to the basket. He was a little out of control with his post work, however. Protected the paint well with a block. Big piece for this Dwenger squad.

[player_tooltip player_id="1049161" first="Preston" last="Ross"] – 6’8 2023 PF: Ross is a long and strong power froward that is pretty agile for his size. Started off with foul trouble so it took him awhile to find his place in the game. Once locked in he was fighting very hard for the rebounds and thought he showed potential to be a long term rim protector. Did have a steal on the defensive end. One thing I felt like he needs to work on is going up stronger with his post moves. Lot of upside here.

Ben Davis: vs Cathedral 2/18

[player_tooltip player_id="1042497" first="Zane" last="Doughty"] – 6’9 2023 C: Doughty is a powerful forward that plays like a true post. Did a great job of getting to the free-throw line and converted very well there. Showed his great ability to protect the rim and was quick enough with his footwork. Very good rebounder that will fight for every board on both ends. So much upside in the post.

[player_tooltip player_id="1160716" first="Clay" last="Butler"] – 5’11 2023 PG: Butler is a lead guard that can mix it up on and off the ball. Has a strong lower body and was pretty explosive at times. Displayed a great shot fake and was solid with creating his own outside jumper. Has really raised his stock over the last year.

[player_tooltip player_id="1158204" first="K.J." last="Windham"] – 6’1 2024 PG: Windham is one of the highest rated prospects we have in the 2024 class. Looks to have grown a little bit and did a great job of pushing the tempo. Was excellent on the drive-and-kick plays and shot the ball well from the outside. He plays like a high level lead guard and can make plays when plays need to be made. Also had multiple steals on the defensive end.
