<p>After both teams had cancellations due to weather concerns, Brent Ross and D'Andre Davis Sr. decided to get together for the second straight season. Warren Central won 67-52 on their trip to Wayne County last season.</p>
<p>The game couldn't have really started out much better for the Northeastern Knights. They were able to control the tempo and get the ball inside to [player_tooltip player_id="1293341" first="Grant" last="Luebbe"] late in the quarter. The 6'3” forward made several nice post moves to help get the Knights out to an early 15-10 advantage.</p>
<p>Louisville signee [player_tooltip player_id="769654" first="D'Ante" last="Davis"] started to get going in the second period scoring six points as the pace started to shift in Warren Central's favor. Northeastern was without their 6'8” senior forward [player_tooltip player_id="1063964" first="Raedhyn" last="Foust"] for most of the half after picking up two early fouls. The Warriors led 26-23 at the half.</p>
<p>Northeastern cut it to three points two different times in the third quarter but just could never get over the hump. [player_tooltip player_id="1297060" first="Jevon" last="Guess"] had a couple of big buckets inside to stop the Knights runs. In the fourth quarter the Warriors built their first double-digit lead of the game with around four minutes remaining, but Northeastern had one more run left in them.</p>
<p>After a couple of free throws from [player_tooltip player_id="1293345" first="Keaton" last="Mikesell"], followed by [player_tooltip player_id="1063964" first="Raedhyn" last="Foust"] stealing the inbounds pass and laying it in, the Knights trailed by just two with under a minute left on the clock. Davis missed a runner in the lane at the other end giving Northeastern a shot to win it. However, Foust couldn't get one to go from the top of the key and Warren Central escaped with a hard fought 49-45 victory.</p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="769654" first="D'Ante" last="Davis"] finished with 15 points and 8 rebounds for the Warriors while [player_tooltip player_id="1297060" first="Jevon" last="Guess"] added 10 points. For Northeastern, Grant Luebee led all scorers with 16 points and [player_tooltip player_id="1063964" first="Raedhyn" last="Foust"] added 10 points.</p>
