We are getting closer and closer to district play and teams are clicking on all cylinders. I was able to attend two games during week 8 and I had a great time at both contests. Below I wrote what I was able to witness first hand.

Omaha Central Eagles 48 vs Millard North Mustangs 53

It was a tight game for the most part. Central would enter the second quarter with a three-point lead but after that Millard North would win the remaining quarters and win the game. [player_tooltip player_id="1018812" first="David" last="Harmon"] (Millard North) (Pictured above) led all scorers with 24 points on 11/15 from the field, 7 rebounds, and two assists. He was all over the place playing great defense, catching the alley-opp and Harmon also shot the ball at a high percentage from behind the arc. I can confidently say David can do it all and is by far the top uncommitted senior for recruitment. [player_tooltip player_id="787647" first="Jasen" last="Green"] (Millard North) had 11 points on 57% shooting from the field but it wasn’t about scoring for Jasen on this night. I saw a side of him I’ve always wondered if he had, guard skills. He looked like a point guard compared to the other forwards. He dished out 4 assists against the Eagles and at times he flashed us glimpses of his non-fundamental ball handling. The Creighton recruit is a complete player. Omaha Central is a talented team of student-athletes led by [player_tooltip player_id="890589" first="Jayden" last="Dawson"] and [player_tooltip player_id="890569" first="PJ" last="Davis"]. Davis led all Eagles with 19 points and Dawson contributed 17 in the 5 point loss to the Mustangs. Both are guards that can put up big numbers fast. If you watch the eagles play often you will notice that the offense is primarily run thru Dawson and Davis. They carry a huge load for Central and are able to bring great energy to every contest. The rest of the Eagles play their roles and that helps the Eagles stay at the top of the list of best teams in the state

Papillion-Lavista Monarchs 55 vs Papillion-Lavista South Titans 59

Another exciting Week 8 matchup was between Papillion-Lavista and Papillion-Lavista South. This was the game for bragging rights in the Papio area. [player_tooltip player_id="890580" first="Daniel" last="Brocaille"] is a certified baller for the Titans. He had a game-high 20 points to go along with the victory. He shot 50% from 3 point land and also grabbed 9 rebounds. Brocaille is playing at a very high level and has been all year. Bryson Bahl and Ian Medec also chipped in 10 points apiece to seal the deal for the Titans. The Monarchs played a competitive game in the 4-point loss to Papio South. Derrick Buggi Jr Led Papillion-Lavista with 14 points, (2-2 from 3 point territory) 3 rebounds, and two assists. Cornhusker football commit Luke Lidnemeyer had another solid game. He scored 12 points (2-4 from three-point territory), 8 rebounds, and two assists. Luke is a great basketball player and if he wanted to play basketball on the next level he would be just as good at basketball as he is football. Last, [player_tooltip player_id="1371604" first="Spencer" last="Smith"] (Monarchs) had an efficient game. Smith went 5 for 7 from the field (71%) with 9 rebounds and 3 assists. Quiet night from Nebraska stand-out [player_tooltip player_id="890583" first="Kyle" last="Ingwerson"] (Monarchs) but look for him to have a monster postseason, you can never count him out.
