March is known for it’s big basketball games. Come win or go home time, what ball handlers do you want on your roster? I’m going to give you some players that I would want handling the rock in the biggest month of basketball.

* I didn’t include any players ranked in the top 10 of their class because of the obviousness of wanting some of them as ball handlers.

[player_tooltip player_id="863969" first="Terrance" last="Broughton"] (2022, PG, Detroit Cass Tech)

Broughton is a top notch ball handler in the senior class. He can create space and scoring opportunities off the bounce and is a very valuable ball handler against pressure defense.

[player_tooltip player_id="1068265" first="Bashir" last="Neely"] (2022, PG, Grand Haven)

Neely is quick off a crossover and turns the corner on his defenders. He does a nice job of protecting the ball when he penetrates the lane with his right hand.

[player_tooltip player_id="863943" first="Mason" last="Woods"] (2022, PG, East Lansing)

Woods is an athletic ball handler that excels in the open floor. He pushes the ball and keeps it out in front in the open floor. Woods can break a press with his handles alone.

[player_tooltip player_id="985671" first="Noah" last="Adamczyk"] (2023, PG, Bloomfield Hills)

Adamczyk can handle the ball with some flash and flare. He’s a creative handler that manufactures buckets off the bounce. Adamaczyk can handle very effectively in transition.

[player_tooltip player_id="986241" first="Bryce" last="Eaton"] (2023, PG, Detroit Edison)

My apologies to Eaton because I’ve underrated him for way too long. He’s like a firecracker with his explosiveness off the dribble. Eaton can look like he’s shot out of a cannon picking up speed when theball is in his hands.

[player_tooltip player_id="986743" first="Brian" last="Hunter"] (2023, PG, Roseville)

If you want effectiveness and purposefulness out of your ball handler, then Hunter might be your guy. He’s speedy with the ball in his hands and he has a use for every bounce.

[player_tooltip player_id="985667" first="Wyatt" last="Nausadis"] (2023, PG, Traverse City St. Francis)

Nausadis isn’t just a scorer. In fact, he’s a better scorer because of his ability to handle the ball. He can start and stop on a dime with the ball in his hands and is a terrific shooter off the bounce.

Derrick King Jr. (2024, PG, Ottawa Hills)

King Jr. is probably one of the better downhill ball handlers around. He can beat the defense down the floor just off his speed with the ball. King Jr. can use speed and creativity with the ball to get his defender on his hip.

[player_tooltip player_id="1223489" first="Dontez" last="Scott"] (2024, PG, Summit Academy)

Scott is a very high upside prospect and that is in big part due to his ability to handle the ball. He can get a defender to lean, pull the ball back, and go the other direction.

[player_tooltip player_id="1112346" first="Landon" last="Williams"] (2024, PG, North Farmington)

Williams is the type of ball handler that every coach wants. He’s been terrific this season handling the the rock against tough ball pressure. I’d be willing to bet that Williams’ turnover numbers are very impressive.
