Taking a look at a few players that led their team to victories in the second-round of the 4A CHSAA playoffs.
Jace Bellah —Pueblo South
That Pueblo South team plays together and has been putting up some incredible performances all season long. Blow out after blow out has had some monster scoring numbers and the player that excelled in this one was Bellah. Bellah put up 19 points in the game as he knocked down 3 3-pointers. He spaces the floor, runs out on the break and finishes well through traffic. Pueblo South will continue to rely on all their players and I wouldn’t be surprised if its him that leads the way again.
Cole had quite the time to have his career-best game and it only will give opposing teams more headaches moving forward on how to slow down the Trojans. He finished with a career-best 28 points and was efficient as well. Corner went 11-17 from the field, and did what he wanted. Corner went 6-9 from deep in the game as a scorcher. When they ran him off the 3 point line, he went and scored in different ways. He had three steals and four steals in the blowout win.
You know what you’re going to get with Mason and that’s bucket after bucket. Black finished with a wild stat line of 30 points, 14 rebounds and 5 steals in the game and that is what he has been all season. Mason has been having a crazy stretch lately and was gunning for another big night. Mason is a great shooter that gets to what he wants. They are going to want him to continue on this and I do not see him slowing down against Lewis-Palmer, teammates have to be ready to back him.
Lowe is a big wing that attacks, attacks, attacks and that leads to big scoring nights. When his shot is on there are not many things you can do with him and in the second-round, he had a coming out party. Lowe finished with 24 points as he hit 4 3-pointers in the game. He used his size and scored in bunches, used his athleticism and was aggressive all night. LP is a team to watch and with him playing like this, they are contenders.
Austin has been one of the top underclassmen for the last two seasons and when it is all said and done, his stats for his career is going to be insane. he does a bit of everything, He scores with ease, is difficult to stay in front of and makes it a nightmare for opposing guards. When he is locked in, his teammates make sure to feed him as he makes the right play with the ball in his hands. Austin had one of the most complete statlines across the board in their second round blowout and that is what he has been doing. He finished with 18 points, 8 rebounds, 10 assists and 6 steals. Thing is, that is normal for him and he will probably have another game just like it before their season is finished. Pueblo South looks like the top team in 4A.
