Picking up on the series covering the top player’s in the Millard, District 66 schools, along with Elkhorn South, while giving analysis on the "And 1" performer for each team. Four of the six teams in this grouping were in the quarterfinals or better of the Metro tournament, so there’s some definite talent to showcase!

*Stats as of 1/4/2022

Millard North

The Bucket: [player_tooltip player_id="787647" first="Jasen" last="Green"] | SF/PF | 6’7" 225lbs | Sr | 18.6 Pts | 10.6 Reb | 2.3 Assists | 1.9 Steals | 3.8 Blocks | 59% FG

And 1: [player_tooltip player_id="1018812" first="David" last="Harmon"] | SG/SF | 6’3" 180LBS | Sr | 14.3 Pts | 5.9 Reb | 2.9 Assists | 55% FG

David had big shoes to fill this year, filling the hole in the lineup left by the 5 star recruit, Hunter Sallis. David has not disappointed. While he may not get the accolades of Hunter, he has show great ability to get to the basket and above average mid range game. He has good length and athleticism that makes him a strong two way player and has put the ball in the bucket consistently. David’s emergence help’s keep defenders from double teams on Mr. Green, and his ability to drive can create long range opportunities for the super sophomore, [player_tooltip player_id="1131121" first="Neal" last="Mosser"]!

Millard South

The Bucket: [player_tooltip player_id="1017540" first="Lance" last="Rucker"] | SF/PF | 6’3" 205lbs | Jr | 14.0 Pts | 6.0 Reb | 1.1 Steals | 1.0 Blocks | 65% FG

And 1: [player_tooltip player_id="1013230" first="Will" last="Cooper"] | SG/SF | 6’4" 180LBS | So | 11.8 Pts | 2.8 Reb | 1.5 Assists | 48% FG

Will is a long, rangy perimeter player. He has a good shooting stroke from the 3pt line, shooting 41% from 3 on the year. He can put the ball on the floor and pull up quick from multiple ranges. Will is only a sophomore and between natural growth, the effort he makes in the weight room and in the gym, he has tremendous potential to be one of the top scorers in the state over the next few years!

Millard West

The Bucket: [player_tooltip player_id="1211024" first="Cole" last="Kirschner"] | G | 5’11" 165lbs | Jr | 11.9 Pts | 2.9 Reb | 1.7 Steals | 2.0 Assists | 44% FG

And 1: Trace Thaden | C | 6’8" 225LBS | Sr | 11.0 Pts | 7.0 Reb | 1.3 Assists | 62% FG

Trace started slow but has began to use his size and strength to create havoc on the blocks. He has good footwork for a big man and doesn’t mind using his body to create space. He gets high efficiency shots cleaning up the boards with the Moore’s. With the loss of Grandgenett, Millard West will need to use their size and athleticism on the inside alot more this year to have a shot, Trace will be a big part of that!

Westside

The Bucket: [player_tooltip player_id="1013207" first="Tate" last="Odvody"] | SG | 6’4" 194lbs | Jr | 16.7 Pts | 3.9 Reb | 1.4 Steals | 1.6 Assists | 60% FG

And 1: [player_tooltip player_id="890571" first="Chandler" last="Meeks"] | SG/SF/PG | 6’1" 185LBS | Sr | 10.6 Pts | 3.9 Reb | 3.2 Assists | 1.5 Steals | 1.2 Blocks | 51% FG

Chandler is highly regarded in the metro but I would venture to say that he may be under appreciated. My personal opinion is that he may be the best college prospect on the team. He is high energy, smooth with the ball and can defend the perimeter as good as any top defender in the state. Very good all around player! He has a solid mid range game and can play bigger than he is with his physicality. Westside is a deep team but don’t be surprised if Chandler makes his presence well known before the end of the year!

Creighton Prep

The Bucket: [player_tooltip player_id="981701" first="Luke" last="Jungers"] | PF/SF | 6’9" 200lbs | Sr | 15.3 Pts | 4.3 Reb | 1.0 Blocks | 61% FG

And 1: [player_tooltip player_id="1235576" first="Martel" last="Evans"] | PG | 6’1" 185LBS | Sr | 14.9 Pts | 4.9 Reb | 4.1 Assists | 1.1 Steals | 57% FG

Martel is lightning quick and is as aggressive as a basket attacker as you will find. He has excellent leaping ability that allows him to finish at the rim and perform well on the boards. He is an above average defender who plays physical and makes guards work hard for a shot. Mr. Jungers is as advertised but when Martel has it going, the Jr. Jays are a tough opponent to beat!

Elkhorn South

The Bucket: [player_tooltip player_id="1235586" first="Henry" last="Burt"] | C/PF | 6’5" 195lbs | Sr | 10.6 Pts | 4.3 Reb | .5 Blocks | 61% FG

And 1: [player_tooltip player_id="1235940" first="Alec" last="Noonan"] | SG | 6’1" 170LBS | Sr | 8.8 Pts | 3.3 Reb | 1.8 Assists | 1.1 Steals | 48% FG

Alec has shown to be a great 3 and D type of player. He has good defensive hands and anticipates opponents movements well. He creates some good offense off his defense by making steals and going to the basket. On the offensive side he does a great job curling of screens or setting for the deep shot. Elkhorn south is a gritty team and Alec definitely fits their mold!
