This article will talk about the top 5 (in no particular order) point guards who performed the best in the highly talked about event, Flyin’ To The Hoop in Dayton this past weekend.

Trey Greene (2023). PG 5’10. Link Academy

Trey Greene is the point guard every coach dreams of. He never gets sped up and has a very tight handle on the ball, so pressure does not bother him. He is the leader, by running the offense and vocally, for the great Link Academy. He plays hard and competes. He is only 5’10 but it does not matter much because of his long arms and athleticism. He hit multiple tough threes and pull-ups. He has great vision and manipulates the defense.

Isaiah Collier (2023). PG 6’4. Wheeler (GA)

Isaiah Collier put on an absolute point guard clinic against Ignatius. The 5-star prospect showed a very sharp and high skillset. He has an incredibly tight handle on the ball and has very rare vision and passing ability. He used his body very well to get to the basket and had great body control on multiple finishes. He is also crazy athletic, just as a cherry on top.

[player_tooltip player_id="616810" first="Sean" last="Jones"] (2022). PG 5’11. Gahanna Lincoln

Most people say [player_tooltip player_id="616810" first="Sean" last="Jones"] is the best player in Ohio and after seeing him play on Sunday I have to agree. He is a very athletic point guard who can do it all. He started out the game aggressive scoring 12 in the first half. He showed that he is a three-level scorer. He has a great build and bounce letting him finish against anyone. He elevates very high on his pull-up game making his shot unblockable for most other guards. He has a very high IQ and shows that when he runs the offense for the Golden Lions and is a great cutter. In the fourth, he turned his defensive pressure and intensity way up. He got into other guards’ shorts anytime they touched the ball and showed he can lock anyone down if he wants to.

[player_tooltip player_id="616817" first="Paul" last="McMillan IV"] (2022). PG 6’3. Cincinnati Woodward

Paul McMilan show exactly why he has been so highly talked about all four years of his high school career. McMilan has great size for a point guard as he stands 6’3, has good length, and has a good build. He has great control to his game and a very high IQ. McMilan makes the right play every time down the floor and runs the offense effortlessly. He showed great unselfishness the whole game, to the point I thought he was too unselfish and then he took the game over. He started to score in bunches in the second half. He started to show the 3 level scorer and great finisher he is. He is very crafty and patient with the ball and does not force himself into bad situations to score. Once he gets hot not many can guard him.

[player_tooltip player_id="867934" first="Gabe" last="Cupps"] (2023). PG 6’2. Centerville

Cupps is a three-level point guard that does it all. He is a very consistent player that you can always count on to play hard and compete then always making the right play with the ball in his hand. He is a basketball savant with the way he runs the offense. He does a great job of getting to his spot on the floor and getting his shot off. He has a very quick pull-upgame and does a great job of reading the defender’s feet on close-outs. He is committed to Indiana and I imagine them being great with him at the helm of the offense.
