<p>The Player Of The Year is one of the most prestigious awards a prep player can take home in his career. This year’s 4A POY race features several candidates putting up remarkable numbers. Throughout the season PH will keep you updated with the different POY races. In this article, we take a look at the leading candidates for 4A POY.</p>
<p><em>Favorites:</em></p>
<p><b>[player_tooltip player_id="986798" first="Alijah" last="Adem"] </b><em>6’1 PG Spring Valley 2024 (#7PHN 2024)</em> – Adem is currently on track to lead the state in scoring and assist. If he can keep the Grizzlies in the playoff hunt, expect him to be a strong candidate. </p>
<p><b>[player_tooltip player_id="1220975" first="Tavionte" last="Jackson"] </b><em>6’2 PG Las Vegas 2022 (#5PHN 2022)</em> – Jackson is on the heels of Adem in the scoring race but is also the state’s leading rebounder. Much like Adem, his team’s success will go a long way to determining his POY status. </p>
<p><b>[player_tooltip player_id="985623" first="Karson" last="Roberts"] </b><em>6’1 PG Bonanza 2023 (#17PHN 2023)</em><b> - </b>Roberts and Bonanza are on a terrific run this season. He leads our #1 4A team in scoring, averaging over 17ppg. </p>
<p><b>[player_tooltip player_id="985630" first="Nakalya" last="Fabello"] </b><em>6’0 PG Valley 2023 (13PHN 2023)</em> <b>- </b>Fabello has been a stud for a Valley squad that has only suffered two losses. He will go head to head against Roberts on Friday in a big matchup.</p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="1286525" first="Kenyon" last="Giles"] <em>5’10 PG Silverado 2022 (#6PHN 2022)</em> - A dynamic scorer, he has been counted on to lead by example for Coach Johnson’s young Skyhawk squad. </p>
<p><em>Dark Horses:</em></p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="928905" first="Sylis" last="Gray"] <em>6’3 SG Bonanza 2022 (#20PHN 2022)</em> - Gray is a talented player, whose scoring ability becomes more and more important as we get closer to playoff time. He’s been the Conference’s best Batman, averaging 15ppg to help shoulder some of Robert’s burden. </p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="859657" first="Donavon" last="Webster"] <em>6’3 SG Cheyenne 2022 (#19PHN 2022)</em> - The Desert Shields are on the move and Webster is a big reason why. The athletic wing has improved as the season has gone on, averaging a team-leading 18ppg. </p>
<p><em>Long Shots:</em></p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="1123633" first="David" last="Estes"] <em>6’7 PF Basic 2022 (#68PHN 2022)</em> - Quiet as kept [player_tooltip player_id="1123633" first="David" last="Estes"] is putting together a monster season at Basic. The Wolves have a terrific opportunity to win their Divison, in large part because few teams have a matchup for the athletic senior forward. </p>
