The season is in full swing and has already had a ton of fabulous performances. The storyline this year seems like it’s shaping up to be the year of the superstar, with several players putting together impressive individual numbers. However, as we all know basketball is a team game. Several duos have found cohesion, allowing for each of them to have individual success, without sacrificing team wins. In this article, we take a look at the top Duos in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id="928905" first="Sylis" last="Gray"]| [player_tooltip player_id="985623" first="Karson" last="Roberts"]| Bonanza (featured image) - Bonanza is #1 and still undefeated against 4A competition, Gray and Roberts are a big part of the reason why. Roberts, who is a POY candidate has brilliantly led his squad, while Gray is one of the top 1 v 1 scorers in the state. Their combined 34 points per game is one of the highest totals of any duo in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id="787643" first="Joshua" last="Jefferson"]| [player_tooltip player_id="986955" first="DJ" last="Thomas"]| Liberty - Jefferson is having a POY type season, but don’t forget about the contributions of his PG. While Jefferson is averaging a double-double, Thomas, is averaging nearly 12ppg, to go along with 6 assists. Perhaps the best indication of Thomas’s value is the fact that 4 out of the 5 Patriot starters are averaging in double figures, proving that several players are eating off Thomas’ assist.

[player_tooltip player_id="1243527" first="Conner" last="Sheets"]| [player_tooltip player_id="1342576" first="Jaelin" last="McDougall"]| Spanish Springs - Sheets is putting together one of the best freshmen seasons of anyone in the state, leading the Cougars in scoring, assist, and steals. McDougall has been a steady number two option, averaging over 11ppg. Together they have SS off to an undefeated start in league play.

[player_tooltip player_id="986954" first="Taj" last="DeGourville"]| [player_tooltip player_id="985637" first="Tylen" last="Riley"]| Durango - Honestly you could use several different combinations for the Trailblazers. I lean to Degourville and Riley because of their contributions on both ends. Degourville is a talented offensive weapon, who was named to the All-Tournament team of the Tark Classic Platinum bracket. Riley is in the midst of a breakout season, having picked up an offer from San Diego.

[player_tooltip player_id="859657" first="Donavon" last="Webster"]| [player_tooltip player_id="1338397" first="David" last="Tinner"]| Cheyenne - Webster, and Tinner have quietly turned the Desert Shields into a contender. Webster leads the team in scoring averaging over 18ppg. Senior forward [player_tooltip player_id="1338397" first="David" last="Tinner"] is right on his heels, putting up more than 15 per. The duo has the Desert Shields riding a 4 game win streak.

[player_tooltip player_id="986798" first="Alijah" last="Adem"]| [player_tooltip player_id="1129386" first="Pharaoh" last="Compton"]| Spring Valley - Adem is putting together one of the most remarkable seasons of anyone in recent memory. The PG is leading the state in total 3’s made while shooting it at a 68% clip. His running mate Compton is one of the top defenders and rebounders in the state, averaging over 3 blocks per game to go along with 12 plus boards.

[player_tooltip player_id="1123633" first="David" last="Estes"]| [player_tooltip player_id="1330084" first="Christian" last="Baltierrez"]| Basic - Estes, and Baltierrez will probably both be breakout POY candidates. The senior forward Estes is averaging over 17ppg to go along with almost 9 boards per game. He is getting help from his sophomore sniper, as Baltierrez is averaging over 13 per game while spacing the floor with his 3 point accuracy.
