Hoop Hall is always the best high school basketball showcase in the country. There have been countless NBA players that were drafted, that have played in Hoop Hall. Also many local teams play. This is a special event for me, since it takes place at Springfield college, where I went to college. Any Basketball fan should attend this. I attended 4 days of the event. Here are some of the standout players from the local teams. .

Joe Griffin, Springfield Central, Position PF, HT 6’5 Class 2022.

Springfield Central basketball has been a high level program over the years. Joe is a strong, and athletic player. He is also a standout player for the football team as well. In the teams win against Putnam, Joe had a double double with 14 points and 15 rebounds. Joe really controlled the paint, and the boards. His strength really helps him grab rebounds. Joe got a lot of second chance points from grabbing offensive rebounds. Joe got off to a fast start scoring 12 points in the first quarter. Joe really showed his athleticism in the game, and his competitive drive. Joe if he chose to play basketball at the next level, definitely has the game for it. In the second game against Bristol Central Joe had 20 points, and 13 rebounds. He was tasked with helping stoping a high level Bristol Central paint presence.

[player_tooltip player_id="1081778" first="Donovan" last="Clingan"], Bristol Central, HT 7’2, position C, Class 2022

Donovan showed how he is deserving of the recognition he is getting. Donovan is a strong and powerful player in the paint. At 7’2 Springfield Central just didn’t have the size to match up with him. They did everything they could to stop him, but still he dominated the game. Donovan had 24 points, 16 rebounds, and 10 blocks. Donovan also did a good job getting his teammates involved, as all the attention on him left other players open. Donovan is an above the rim, and very high level player.

Sam Flemming, Springfield international Charter, Class 2025, Position F, HT 6’5

Sam helped lead his team to a big win against Bay State Academy. Sam is only a freshman on the team, but already making and impact, and showing his potential. Sam is a forward who is strong, but also has guard skills. Sam is a high IQ basketball player. In the game Sam had 10 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks. Sam will be a player to watch over the coming years. Sam is a strong fundamental player, who rebounds the ball well, and can also play above the rim.

Corey Durant Jr, Sci-Tech, Class 2022, position F,

Corey was named player of the game, when he helped lead his team to a win against Paulo Freire. Corey led all scorers with 23 points. Corey showed his versatile skill set. Corey did very well pressuring the ball on defense leading to fast break points for his team. Corey also shot the ball well from three point range. Corey is having a strong season for Sci-Tech and can is proving he can play at the next level.

Jordan Travis, Bay State Academy, Position G, Class 2022

In the teams game against Springfield international, it was a defensive battle, except for Jordan. Jordan carried his team on the offensive end for the game. He finished the game high 24 points. Jordan is a very good scorer and can score in the lane with ease. In the game he showed his elite finishing skills, and scoring abilities. Jordan is a skilled, and crafty scoring guard.
