Prep Hoops had the Highland Shootout on lock this past weekend with coverage all day long and into this week. Here we break down the prospects who played well in Highland Shootout: Missouri and Pennsylvania Standouts!

[player_tooltip player_id="1045827" first="Braxton" last="Stacker"] (Cardinal Ritter – 2022)

Stacker is headed to Murray State next season. The 2022 small forward played a little bit all over the floor. Was very impactful on the defensive end with his length and lateral footspeed creating several turnovers. Slick ball handler using his long strides to get to the cup. He had 13 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 steals.

[player_tooltip player_id="984516" first="Robert" last="Lewis"] (Cardinal Ritter – 2022)

Lewis is one of the more interesting uncommitted posts in the Midwest. Long and lanky frame with major athletic pop. Came off the bench and made an impact immediately with his shot blocking, rim running, and touch around the paint on right handed hook shots. Scored 12 points in the game. Definitely worth a look for low-major programs.

[player_tooltip player_id="984500" first="Jevon" last="Porter"] (Father Tolton – 2022)

Porter is one heck of a get for Pepperdine. The skilled post was a force against a smaller Moline squad. Porter high pointed rebounds all game long while snatching them and putting it back for points. Quick and fluid post moves being able to take it a couple dribbles and use his footwork down low. Also stepped out to hit a few threes. Was good as a rim protector. Needs to continue to add strength, but should be a program changer for Pepperdine. Scored 27 points.

[player_tooltip player_id="984515" first="Tahki" last="Chievous"] (Father Tolton – 2022)

Cheivous had to open eyes with his performance on Saturday. The 6'3” senior wing was lethal scoring it from all three levels. Has a bit of a funky release on his jumper but it went in at a nice clip. Frame and length project well long term as he was creative with the rock in his hands getting to the hoop for wins off the dribble netting 22 points.

Aaron Rowe (Father Tolton – 2025)

First look at the much hyped freshman. He showed a lot of intriguing qualities you must like. Athletic combo guard with such great athleticism, speed, and burst. He blew past defenders on a regular basis where he converted with eye popping dunks or acrobatic layups. Shifty with the ball being able to break defenders down off the bounce. He had 13 points.

BJ Ward (Chaminade – 2023)

Ward was fantastic in their victory over Yorkville Christian. The powerfully built combo guard went straight at the defense over and over again and was rewarded. Used his strength and crafty handles to get in the paint where he finished with relative ease throughout the evening. A downhill slashing guard that loves to score it and showed good feel as a passer. Solid rebounding guard as well. Low-major and mid-majors should take a look.

Nilavan Jotham-Daniels (Chaminade – 2023)

Long and lanky wing with a ton of projection. Early in the season you could see the potential, but it wasn't all the way there. He put it together in this game as the junior drained four triples igniting the Chaminade offense for 25 points. Plus spot up threat that is a quality perimeter defender as well.

[player_tooltip player_id="985419" first="Nate" last="Straughter"] (Chaminade - 2022)

The recent Millikin commit was the sparkplug early for this squad. He had an alley-oop, got on the offensive glass, and overall was super active. Two way wing that is an elite small college get as he had 19 points.

[player_tooltip player_id="1180544" first="Filip" last="Sinobad"] (Chaminade – 2022)

Like what we have seen from Sinobad over the last year. Skilled post that can stretch the floor with shooting, excellent passer, and is physical on the glass. Impact small college recruit that could sneak into D2.

[player_tooltip player_id="1362685" first="Kennard" last="Davis"] (Vashon – 2023)

Davis is one of my favorite out of state prospects I have seen this year. Good size on the perimeter being able to play inside and out. Physical slasher that slithers through the defense but has the strength to convert in the paint. Excellent offensive rebounder not only getting buckets for himself, but kicking to shooters. He has some shooting touch of his own as he drained three including banking one in to close the first half in a 15 point outing. Also has the capability to be a plus defender at the next level with versatility on that end.

[player_tooltip player_id="984502" first="Rob" last="Martin"] (CBC – 2022)

Martin has been in this event for several years even without last year. Been a mainstay at CBC since his freshman season. High IQ guard that makes heady plays getting teammates involved, but when needing to score he can do it as well. That was what happened on Saturday as he matched Ames point for point in a comeback attempt that they won. Smaller guard that loves to get in the lane for scores off the bounce while also mixing in crisp 15-18 foot pull ups. He had 26 points and would be a great leader for a low-major.

Larry Hughes Jr. (CBC – 2022)

Hughes is a prospect we have always thought flew under the radar which is a surprise considering his name and school. Silky smooth scoring wing that had it flowing from deep with an array of pull ups and feathery threes for 20 points.

[player_tooltip player_id="1125608" first="John" last="Bol"] (CBC – 2024)

At 7'2” Bol has superstar written all over him. The top ranked Missouri sophomore is an elite shot blocking presence who swats them both inside and on the perimeter. Such great timing and feel for rejecting shots. He is high-major because of that skill alone. Also rebounds high pointing them in traffic. Offensive game right now is mostly dunks and put backs. Shows touch on free throws which could develop into a jumper.

[player_tooltip player_id="991341" first="Justin" last="Edwards"] (Imhotep – 2023)

Edwards came into the game with a ton of hype. The top ranked junior in Pennsylvania and some consider a top 10 prospect nationally. He floated for stretches in the game for sure, but there is a lot to like. Long and lanky left handed two guard with good size. Silky smooth perimeter jumper with a high release that he popped from the baseline, three, and a key spinning jumper late. Like what he brings defensively being able to check multiple spots. He was the MVP of the game with 17 points and 7 boards.

[player_tooltip player_id="1287322" first="Mo" last="Abdullah"] (Imhotep – 2022)

Another good-sized wing with plus athleticism. Opened the contest with a monster two handed jam to let everyone know that the PA team was in the house. Then he got it flowing from distance hitting several threes for 12 points. He is headed to Rider next season.
