In this article I discuss and break down the statistical leaders in the Eastern Dakota Conference.

Points Per Game: [player_tooltip player_id="1169136" first="Mason" last="Klabo"] - Fargo Davies (25.8ppg)

As just a freshman, [player_tooltip player_id="1169136" first="Mason" last="Klabo"] has had no problem leading the Eastern Dakota Conference in scoring so far this season. The Davies Eagle has had a monster year putting up a career high 45 points against Fargo North, shooting just above 50% from the field, and making three shots a game from beyond the arc. One thing that I believe makes Klabo so great is the confidence and swagger that he plays with on the court, not something you would usually see in such a young player. With Mason recently snagging an offer from North Dakota State University, the sky is the limit for where he can take his basketball talent.

Rebounds Per Game: [player_tooltip player_id="1046354" first="Michael" last="Nhial"] - West Fargo Sheyenne | [player_tooltip player_id="1317710" first="James" last="Hamilton"] - Fargo South (11.2rpg)

Being the athletic specimen that he is, its no surprise that senior [player_tooltip player_id="1046354" first="Michael" last="Nhial"] is at the top of the rebounding pack in the EDC. Whether he’s soaring in the air on the defensive end to snag a missed shot, or collecting one of his 5.1 offensive rebounds per game, you can always expect to see Michael battling for the ball. With the toughness that he possess, and his desire to help the Mustangs win, I expect Nhial to keep up this level of play all season long. Also leading the EDC in rebounds per game is sophomore Bruin [player_tooltip player_id="1317710" first="James" last="Hamilton"]. This young player is excellent at attacking the ball on the boards, anticipating where the missed shot will fall, and playing hard on both ends. With the knack that James has for rebounding, I expect to see him at the top of this list for years to come.

Assists Per Game: [player_tooltip player_id="1169136" first="Mason" last="Klabo"] - Fargo Davies (4.1apg)

Along with leading the EDC in scoring, Davies guard [player_tooltip player_id="1169136" first="Mason" last="Klabo"] also leads all players in assists per game. With the court vision, playmaking ability, and confident play style, this makes Klabo a dangerous passer while on the floor. His high level scoring ability also opens up opportunities to find teammates for easier buckets. With multiple years still left in high school, I have a feeling we will see plenty of more dimes from the freshman phenom.

Blocks Per Game: [player_tooltip player_id="1138774" first="Ethan" last="Manock"] - Wahpeton (2.2bpg)

Junior forward [player_tooltip player_id="1138774" first="Ethan" last="Manock"] is as explosive as they came while on the basketball court. He can dominate above the rim and has an aggressive play style, both reasons why he leads the Eastern Dakota Conference in blocks per game. From what I’ve seen Ethan has no problem volleyball spiking a shot out of bounds, timing his jump perfectly to match his opponents, or punching the ball off the glass. With the toughness and energy that Manock plays with, there aren’t many guys that want to see him while driving to the hoop.

Steals Per Game: Also [player_tooltip player_id="1169136" first="Mason" last="Klabo"] - Fargo Davies (4.0spg)

Adding onto the list, Mason also leads the EDC in steals per game. Whether its pick pocketing his man, or cutting off the lane to intercept a pass, Klabo is very active on the defensive end as well.

Field Goal Percentage: [player_tooltip player_id="1144600" first="Carter" last="Zeller"] - Fargo North (72%)

If you’ve ever seen Fargo North sophomore [player_tooltip player_id="1144600" first="Carter" last="Zeller"] on the court, then it should come as no surprise that he leads the EDC in field goal percentage. This kid is a machine in the paint, and seeing a miss from him doesn’t happen all that often. With the IQ and patience that Carter plays with on the offensive end I wouldn’t be surprised to see this stat sustained for the remainder of the season.

Three Point Percentage: Dean Grant - Fargo South (52.9%)

Junior Bruin Dean Grant has been lights out from beyond the arc so far this season. Grant is deadly shooting off of the catch, but he can also knock down shots coming off the dribble. When teams play Fargo South the rest of the way you can bet that Dean Grants shooting ability will be near the top of the scouting report.
