<p>It usually doesn’t happen but when it does you take advantage of it. Prep Hoops needed to the see the Bearcats from the Midlands still play this season. Brookland Cayce HS made the trip down to the Grand Strand to play the Class 5A Carolina Forest HS Panthers. Let’s take a look at how this game turned out tonight from the Black Hole. </p>
<p><em><strong>UNSIGNED SENIORS:</strong> </em></p>
<p>Carolina Forest took the Bearcats into overtime and won 68-67. The Panthers prevailed on 2 made throws by <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="930633" first="Jonah" last="Nesmith"]</strong> with 0.2 seconds left on the clock. Nesmith finished the night with 30 points for the Panthers. Nesmith a rangy small forward was able to score the ball from all 3 levels this evening for the Panthers.</p>

<p>Teammate <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="930615" first="Mikah" last="Nelson"]</strong> did the best he could to manage 13 points tonight. Nelson scored most of his points from around cup compared to the last time we saw him play. </p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="930641" first="Jahmari" last="Kennerly"]</strong> led the way in the game and for the Bearcats with a game high 32 points. Jahmari rebounded the well from the guard position and seemed to be in the middle of every play tonight for the Bearcats.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="795989" first="Christian" last="Ferguson"]</strong> finished with 15 points for the Bearcats. Ferguson looked to settle for a lot of his points and shots on the perimeter this evening. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1214134" first="Christian" last="Hall"]</strong> the 3rd senior in the starting lineup for the Bearcats (11-3) had 8 points tonight. </p>
<p><em><strong>Bench Play:</strong></em></p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1184789" first="Moe" last="Davis"]</strong> (2024) and <strong>Ty Bennett</strong> provided 11 points off the bench for the Panthers this evening. Bennett scored all 5 points in the overtime for the Panthers after entering the game at the 2:37 mark of the 3rd quarter. </p>
<p><strong>Timely Shooting: </strong></p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1295772" first="Robbie" last="Anderson"]</strong> converted two back-to-back three pointers to tie up the game late for the Panthers. Anderson finished the evening with 6 points. </p>
<p><em><strong>Sophomore Stepping Up: </strong></em></p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1360035" first="BJ" last="Etheridge"]</strong> is a new name for the database that’s for sure. BJ a left-handed point guard for the Bearcats scored 7 points while dropping a few dimes along the way. </p>
<p><em><strong>Season Moving Forward:</strong></em> </p>
<p>The Bearcats a Class 3A program could possibly make a strong run this coming season. </p>
<p>The Carolina Forest HS Panthers a 5A program will have to battle through region play with the likes of Conway HS, Sumter HS and Socastee HS.</p>
