Layne Sarver Layne Sarver 6'4" | SF Tri-Village | 2022 State OH (2022). W 6’6. Tri-Village
Layne Sarver Layne Sarver 6'4" | SF Tri-Village | 2022 State OH was all over the place for the Patriots and he played hard for them as well. He is a long wing with a matured build that can be added to. He has a nice stroke but he is more of a slasher. He had some very strong and aggressive takes. He did a great job at getting his teammates involved. He is very patient with the ball – he likes to get the ball and read the defense, sometimes not for the best because he needs to get it and go sometimes, but when he does decide to go he is tough to stop from getting to the rack. He has a nice pull-up game as well.
Preston Steele Preston Steele 6'5" | PF Africentric | 2023 State OH (2023). W 6’6. Columbus Africentric
Preston Steele Preston Steele 6'5" | PF Africentric | 2023 State OH is a 6’6 wing for Africentric that is very intriguing. He is very strong and moves pretty well. Steele is an old-school kind of player as he posted hard and strong all game for the Nubians and when he got the ball he showed some very nice back-to-the-basket moves. Steele also has a very nice-looking stroke as well. He and Swain make a very nice junior combo for Africentric.
Caleb Iheukwu Caleb Iheukwu 6'5" | PF Westerville North | 2022 State OH (2022). W 6’5. Westerville North
Iheukwu is an athlete! He is also very long and uses it very well. He had two blocks early on three-point attempts and gets multiple rebounds on both ends as he can get a lot by out jumping opponents. He is inconsistent from beyond the three-point line but his shot looks nice and hit two late for the Warriors to increase the lead when they had it. He also had a very nice drop step two-handed dunk to show off his leaping ability even some more.
Josh Reed (2022). W 6’7. Pace Academy
The 6’7 Reed saw a smaller Trotwood at Flyin’ to the Hoop and decided to expose that weakness and use his strength. He played a lot of PG for Pace in the game and posted up and scored multiple buckets down low for Pace. He has a very nice and strong build. He was a bully all game long and with his size with guard skills he is a mismatch for most guards. He was able to defend their guards as well, showing that this kid can guard and play almost every position on the floor.
