<p>Below is a preview of five southeastern Pennsylvania games we are looking forward to watching the week of January 9th, 2022.</p>
<p><strong>Tue., Jan. 11th…Imhotep Charter at Math, Civics & Sciences: </strong>[player_tooltip player_id="991341" first="Justin" last="Edwards"], [player_tooltip player_id="991339" first="Rahmir" last="Barno"] and their extremely talented teammates have run ‘Tep’s record to 9-2. Now they face arguably their toughest Philly Public League game. If MCS is to upset one of the top 6A teams in the state, they will need a historic game from combo guard [player_tooltip player_id="991197" first="Jaheim" last="Bethea"]. Bethea is phenomenal at scoring and distributing off the dribble. When he passes, Bethea will hit fleet footed, 6’9” wing [player_tooltip player_id="991199" first="Khalif" last="Crawley"] or FIU commit Darryon Prescott. The Elephants are also getting contributions from 3-level scoring prospect [player_tooltip player_id="1187956" first="Aasim" last="Burton"] (2024).</p>
<p><strong>Tue., Jan. 11th…Friends Central at George School: </strong>The FC program’s return to basketball glory got off to a rocky start this season., but now the influx of new talent appears to be gelling. Electric point man [player_tooltip player_id="1173986" first="Fazl" last="Oshodi"] (2024), smooth shooting lefty [player_tooltip player_id="1281940" first="Colin" last="Bowman"] (2023) and transition scorer [player_tooltip player_id="1192647" first="Reid" last="Belcher"] (2024) spearhead the Phoenix offense. The George School is led by the inside-outside tandem of interior force Onyekachi “Kachi” Nzeh (numerous DI offers) and scoring point guard [player_tooltip player_id="1285466" first="Christian" last="Bliss"] (five DI offers). Bliss has already recorded several 20+ point games this season.</p>
<p><strong>Wed., Jan. 12th…Roman Catholic at Archbishop Wood: </strong>Originally this rematch of last season’s PCL championship game (won by Wood) was scheduled for January 2nd , but the game was postponed. No matter the date, this contest will feature too many college prospects to count. Elite shooting guard [player_tooltip player_id="901951" first="Daniel" last="Skillings"] (Cincinnati) and wing scorer [player_tooltip player_id="991212" first="Khalil" last="Farmer"] (Hofstra) lead Roman. Class of 2023 point guard [player_tooltip player_id="991334" first="Xzayvier" last="Brown"] (15 ppg.) is a high DI backcourt prospect, but he is questionable for this contest because of an ankle injury. If Brown remains out, combo guard Toby Ojukwu (2024) one of the top underclassmen in the area will be at the helm for Roman. Wood’s roster features floor general [player_tooltip player_id="991202" first="Justin" last="Moore"] (Drexel) and slasher style forward [player_tooltip player_id="1013075" first="Carson" last="Howard"]. Do not overlook Wood senior Mike Knouse as well as 6’3” junior [player_tooltip player_id="1189096" first="Jalil" last="Bethea"]. Both will play at the next level.</p>
<p><strong>Thurs., Jan. 13th…Delaware County Christian at Dock Mennonite:</strong> Bicentennial Athletic League powers collide when scoring point guard [player_tooltip player_id="991278" first="Joshua" last="Parks"] (2020-21 1st Team All-League selection) and his DCCS squad travel to face a Pioneers team that raced out to a 9-2 start. Dock Mennonite is receiving tremendous production from junior small forward Nathan Lapp (multiple 20+ games). Lapp has added 3-point range to his already impressive skill set. Additionally, Dock senior long distance sniper Tomir Johnson has been torching the nets of late.</p>
<p><strong>Sat., Jan. 15th…Academy of the New Church at Penn Charter: </strong>ANC has one of the best backcourts in the region in [player_tooltip player_id="1119147" first="Elmarko" last="Jackson"] (12 DI offers) and [player_tooltip player_id="1119156" first="Deywilk" last="Tavarez"] (Offer from Hofstra.), but it has been senior [player_tooltip player_id="991213" first="Anthony" last="McCall"] who is making headlines of late. The 6’4” scoring wing is averaging a near double-double – 19.6 ppg. and 9 rpg. Penn Charter (10-1) is one of the hottest teams in the area thanks to stellar play from dime dropping, junior point guard [player_tooltip player_id="991383" first="Mark" last="Butler"]. Elite scoring prospects [player_tooltip player_id="1116056" first="Trey" last="Shinholster"] (2023) and his younger brother [player_tooltip player_id="1271429" first="Kai" last="Shinholster"] (2025) have also made major contributions. Keep an eye on PC’s Isaiah Grimes (2023). He is quietly having a solid season.</p>
