1-5A & 1-4A All-District Predictions

Two of the largest districts in the state, 1-5A and 1-4A, have played the first half of their district games with the second round starting this past Friday. Within big districts like this, there are usually plenty of players to choose from for all-district recognition. In this article, I will take a stab at predicting who will be the all-district players in 1-5A and 1-4A. Even though they still have three weeks before they are named, these all-district teams should be talent-filled to say the least. District 1-5A 1st team (projected) [player_tooltip player_id="1271043" first="Davion" last="Coleman"] (Captain Shreve) Dalyn Davis (Natchitoches Central) [player_tooltip player_id="932848" first="Marquarius" last="Johnson"] (Southwood) [player_tooltip player_id="1105545" first="Greg" last="Manning"] (Benton) [player_tooltip player_id="1127252" first="Kyron" last="Reed"] (Captain Shreve) 1-5A has a ton of talented players and these five may be the best. Dalyn Davis has been the most dangerous and consistent threat for the Chiefs. The 6’2" guard can rebound and attack the rim like a lot of the top guards. [player_tooltip player_id="932848" first="Marquarius" last="Johnson"] has been the Pokes leading scorer all season and their best playmaker. He has really grown into his own in his senior season. Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id="1105545" first="Greg" last="Manning"] is the best small guard in the district and scores against any defense. [player_tooltip player_id="1127252" first="Kyron" last="Reed"] has been the best pure shooter in the district and has matured during the season as he manned the point guard position. The same goes for [player_tooltip player_id="1270244" first="Justin" last="Aaron"]. He has been excellent on the defensive end at taking charges and is a good rebounding guard. Senior Kavon Barnhill is the Yellowjackets top scoring threat and will stick the wide open jumper from deep. He is also super quick when it comes to driving to the rim. [player_tooltip player_id="1105538" first="Trevon" last="Jackson"] has led Airline in scoring during most games. He is the Vikings top scoring threat. Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id="1105536" first="Jeremiah" last="Evans"] has hit his stride during district. He has been a scoring and shot blocking menace for the Cowboys. When Minden has been successful, Bailey has played a large part in it [player_tooltip player_id="1105532" first="Braylen" last="Clark"] is about as good as it gets as a pure point. The Evangel guard may pass first, but he will make a team pay if he is left open. [player_tooltip player_id="1130734" first="Jacobee" last="Jackson"] has been the most improved player in the district. His jumpshooting from the mid-range has helped make him a dangerous scorer. He will be one to push for first team placement. Donavan Seamster Donavan Seamster 6'2" | SG Woodlawn-Shreve | 2022 State LA has shot the lights out all season and has made strides in his defensive play.
